Creation and development of a corporate information system
Project Objectives
Quality improvement, transparency and efficiency of management and financial statements for ensuring management of VTB Group with sufficient information for operational acceptance of management decisions. Reduction of operating expenses at the expense of an exception of duplicative functions and reduction of manual data processing by standardization of reference books and ensuring single input of complete, consistent data.
Project Tasks
The following tasks are carried out: The platform for information exchange on VTB Group is created; Uniform processes on collecting and preparation of the reporting in DFK are built; Data collection from 25 Subsidiary Financial Companies in a corporate information system is made. On a monthly basis 17 reports form, on a daily basis 3 reports form, on a quarterly basis 2 reports form; Collecting of IFRS of reports through a corporate information system is implemented; Monthly collection of information on P&L is implemented; Reengineering of reports on VTB Group is carried out (Stage 1).
Project Progress
For project implementation approach with creation of a prototype of a system based on which a productive system was developed was selected. This approach allowed to implement the project in extremely short terms. The project was broken into several stages with terms:
- Stage 1 – 1 month
- Stage 2 – 4 months
- Stage 3 – 1 year and more
STAGE 1 PURPOSES:
Development of functional requirements to the system of collecting and information analysis for formation of the regulatory, financial and management reporting of VTB Group.
As a result of a feather stage the following documents were created:
The functional requirements to reporting data containing the following information:
- requirements to object attribute structure of reporting data;
- requirements to attribute structure of reference books;
- requirements to appearance of report forms (by the releasing divisions);
- requirements to criteria of quality control of data, algorithms of their calculation.
The functional requirements to a system containing the following information:
- description of an IT solution architecture;
- interface description of a system;
- the description of interaction of the persons involved in reporting process.
Regulations of maintaining NSI and the Glossary of the used terms and determinations.
STAGE 2 PURPOSES:
Creation of structure of the data warehouse of VTB Group and modules of data exchange, control system of receipt and verification of reporting information. Development and deployment of the solution according to the received requirements.
As a result of Stage 2 the following documents were created:
- The temporary solution on reporting of VTB Group is developed, tested and implemented in commercial operation;
- Together with bank the team on support of the developed solution is formed and prepared;
The project documentation including documents is transferred to a command of support of VTB bank:
- detailed technical architecture;
- functional specifications with the made corrections;
- technical specifications;
- protocols and act of acceptance testing;
- user guide and system administrator;
- other project documents.
The packet of source codes of the developed solution is transferred to a command of support of VTB bank.
STAGE 3 PURPOSES:
Support of a corporate information system of VTB Group. Development of a corporate information system of VTB Group.
As a result of Stage 3 the following works are carried out:
- implementation of completions of running reports;
- making changes in technical documentation of the project;
- development of new report forms;
- architectural completions of a system.
Project Results
The implemented functionality allowed bank to carry out on a centralized basis collection of information from subsidiary companies in the unified format with the subsequent consolidation. Providing access of divisions of Group to uniform data source allowed to prepare the reporting for the different purposes using a uniform source. At the expense of the description and approval of algorithms and method of calculation of indicators of business division equally understand an essence of data retrieveds.
