X5 Retail Group began SAP implementation of HANA

On August 31, 2015 the SAP SE company announced signing of the contract with X5 Retail Group about implementation in the IT system of the retailer of the high-performance platform for storage and data processing of SAP HANA in the SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud cloud environment.

Project Tasks

Project objective - to provide X5 information analysis about billions of purchases made in retail chain stores, assortment planning, a demand forecast, accounting of the changing tastes of buyers and creation of address marketing offers for one and all target groups.

According to project participants, the SAP HANA platform will help to analyze quickly the data on vendor interaction, documents on logistics and transport chains, financial transactions, the history of perfect purchases which are saved up for several years for 3 years in all retail chain stores.

Quickly the SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud cloud environment with assistance of specialists of SAP Service and Support on resources of DPC of SAP in Moscow will help to unroll the platform. The basic data array will include about 4 billion checks.

It is planned that in the closest 9-12 months of X5 will be able already to receive the reporting on transactions in shops practically without delay — with a difference 30 minutes while earlier for the operational analysis, data were available only for previous day.
