Solvo automated a warehouse of the producer of cabinet furniture Almaz based on Solvo.WMS

The SOLVO company completed in the summer of 2015 the project on automation of a warehouse of 17000 sq.m in the city of Volgodonsk of one of the producers of cabinet furniture, Almaz company, largest in Russia, which in the market is known under the Favourite House brand.

Due to the increase in production volumes and expansion of the range, the Almaz company had a need for construction of a new warehouse complex under control of the system of the class WMS which could increase efficiency by means of warehouse automation. The choice of the company stopped on the Solvo.WMS system.

Specifics of a warehouse: existence of a railway branch which directly approaches docks. 2 docks where 3 cars at the same time can be loaded are provided.

For the new logistic center the Almaz company defined the following tasks:

• Transformation of storekeepers into universal warehouse workers who are not tied to a zone of a warehouse or specific products;
• System implementation of address storage of goods, tracing of history of each goods item from an exit about production before shipment to the client;
• Implementation of simultaneous assembly of one order in different zones of a warehouse for loading in motor transport through one dock;
• Introduction of double control in a warehouse;
• Shipment process acceleration, reduction of underloads and overloads.
• Creation of mechanisms of motivation of personnel;
• Automation of control of accounting and shipment of claims.

The tasks set by Almaz company were carried successfully out with SOLVO.WMS system implementation. Besides, within the project integration of the SOLVO.WMS system with the available accounting system was made.

Among features of this project it is possible to note work with sets of furniture and piece cargo accounting: each packet (a furniture part) is pasted over with the cargo label. Accounting of sets by such parts allows to perform operational acceptance from production, without waiting for the end of release of all production lot. Existence of cargo labels on each packet gave an opportunity of additional control at assembly, shipment and also allowed to monitor the movement of each released part from the plant to the end buyer, to check existence of defects. Besides, in a warehouse work with claims significantly became simpler, and processing of ASN loads allowed to make most quickly product acceptance from production and at once to place it in the set cell in a warehouse.

Thanks to harmonious and laborious work of developers, testers and implementation teams of "SOLVO", the project was successfully complete in time and the warehouse began the work.

Thanks to Solvo.WMS implementation, the following results were achieved:

• Automation of basic processes of the logistic center;
• Ensuring address storage of products;
• Optimization of the movement of the warehouse equipment;
• Automatic issue of tasks to employees of a warehouse for RDT;
• Consolidation of several orders for one machine (in one dock);
• Increase in efficiency of storekeepers and shtabelyorshchik at the expense of a binding to the key indicators (operations on a system), to the salary.
