In September, 2015 the Kazakhstan SAP company and JSC ArcelorMittal Temirtau, the enterprise of the mining and metallurgical sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan, announced project completion on the implementing solution SAP PM (Plant Maintenance) of the maintenance and repair of a production equipment (TORO) intended for process automation.
JSC ArcelorMittal Temirtau is the largest industrial giant on steel production in the territory of Kazakhstan. For the solution of such priority tasks as optimization of production and development of competitive advantages in the market of metal products, the company management in 2014 made the decision on SAP implementation of PM in all workshops of iron and steel works to increase transparency of processes of repair, to simplify efficiency analysis of the held events and process of collecting of data on an expense of spare parts.
"Both high quality of the project, and speed of its implementation were important for us. Specialists of SAP Service and Support in only 7 months which completed SAP implementation of PM in all 54 workshops of steel department successfully coped with two of these tasks. Now the solution is used by over 250 users. By the end of the year their number will increase up to 400. We expect high rates of efficiency from the project, reduction of number of repairs without loss of reliability of the equipment and costs for maintenance", - Sergey Rogovoy, the chief of the Main data processing center, JSC ArcelorMittal Temirtau noted.
"We gained the first effect of implementation of the module practically at once. Process of collection of information about planned and actual costs on repair with simultaneous increase in detailing became simpler. Earlier information on the planned repair costs which are purchased and the spent materials, and the purchased services was in the modules SAP MM, SAP SRM, SAP FI-FM and SAP CO c the insufficient detail level. Now all information can be seen in the module TORO by workshops, the equipment and types of repairs. Also in a system information on accidents and idle times which forms base for process of reliability augmentation of the equipment begins to be accumulated. Now the project team actively works on development of a system and improvement of processes of TORO that should enhance effects of implementation of the module TORO even more. We very much are proud of the fact that based on audit of our work from Global office ArcelorMittal, we were marked out as one of the most successful projects on the speed and quality of implementation of the module TORO, in comparison with similar projects in Eastern Europe" — Bakhtiar Kalmyrzayev, the Project manager of SAP of PM/ARMP ArcelorMittal Temirtau noted.
