As Rostelecom optimized logistics

On September 23, 2015 the MAYKOR-GMCS company announced process optimization of logistics and warehouse economy of Rostelecom company in all regions of its presence. Automation of inventory accounting is carried out together with the MAYKOR-GMCS company selected from quality of the contractor according to the results of an open competition.

Project Results

Within the project more than 20% of warehouse spaces are optimized and released, possibilities of the ERP system of Oracle E-Business Suite on control and cost management on warehouse activity are expanded, the mechanism of accounting and control allowing to keep track in real time of dynamics of stocks and fullness of warehouse complexes is created.

During project implementation from October, 2013 to March, 2015 the complex of actions is held:

• audit of the used areas and structure of stocks. Within audit use more than 100 warehouse ^{complexes about 250 thousand sq.m}, with the general trade inventory more than 50 mln units is analyzed. storages,
• influence of additional factors is defined:
  • scales of business projects,
  • geographical, technical and social features of federal districts and areas.

• the algorithm of calculation of need for warehouse spaces meeting needs of all regions is created, and for the purpose of optimization of a remaining balance and the areas used for their storage procedures of inventory management and material flows are created.
• the mechanism of selection of warehouse costs is created,
• the new functionality of Oracle E-Business Suite is developed and implemented:
  • operational inventory control
  • reporting which is analog of a warehouse control system.

Project Results

Rostelecom is the large-scale company with difficult supply chains. Effective management of warehouse logistics - an important element of support and ensuring business processes of the Company. For providing high-quality services to our clients we should have a clear and operational picture of the movement of the equipment in our warehouses. Thanks to implementation of this project we have an opportunity in the online mode to trace a status of load of our warehouse spaces, existence of necessary stocks and to make operational management decisions, - Alexander Abramkov, project results the vice president for administrative matters of PJSC Rostelecom noted. - For 1.5 years of work of the project total amounts of the stored stocks decreased by 20%, and low-turned – almost twice. More than 44 thousand ^sq.m of warehouse spaces and in planned release even more than 15 thousand ^sq.m and also about 100 thousand ^sq.m of the land plots are released for implementation and internal redistribution".
