The archive of "the Kazakhstan Railroads" is transferred to an electronic form using the solution of ABBYY

November 10, 2015. JSC National Company azastan Tem_r Zholy (the Kazakhstan Railroads) selected ABBYY Recognition Server for automation of archive office-work. With the solution of ABBYY in 14 months it was succeeded to recognize 10.5 million pages of paper documentation. Now archive documents are stored in information systems of the company in electronic form. Access to necessary information can be got in read seconds. It is in the future going to digitize more than 8 thousand arriving documents annually.

Choosing a Solution

The daily data access from archives is necessary for clients, partners and the staff of the company. Earlier, to obtain information, it was necessary to look for long documents in paper archive. Some of them were shabby that complicated work with them. There was a risk of loss of documents or their damage. Search and identification of the necessary information took away many resources. Besides, clients and partners had to wait long for necessary information that, of course, led to reputational risks.

Automation of archive office-work required the solution capable quickly and qualitatively to recognize documents. The management of the Kazakhstan Railroads selected ABBYY Recognition Server. With its help it is possible to process more than 1 million pages a month, to recognize images in 190 languages and is structured to save data retrieveds in an information system of the organization.

Project Progress

The project on implementation of ABBYY Recognition Server lasted from November, 2013 to December, 2014. The "Astana Special Equipment and Implementation" company which is responsible for technical implementation of the project set and configured 39 scanning stations, verifications and indexings. Using ABBYY Recognition Server are already digitized 10.5 million pages of archive documents among which: year balances and reports, orders, sheets, personal records and many other things. For work with electronic documents the information system was created. Now the staff of the company can quickly find documents and transfer necessary information to clients and partners. And it became even simpler to company management to accept important business solutions, representatives of the company integrator reported TAdviser.
