Cisco Cloud Web Security works through cloud service Cisco Security Intelligence Operations (SIO) which reveals and blocks threats in real time. In service SIO a huge number of the interconnected sensing technologies, numerous modules of scanning and the automated self-trained heuristic mechanisms is used. In SIO each Internet request and the related risks for security in detail is considered that allows to provide safe use of the Internet.

Setting rules of admissible use, Cisco Cloud Web Security controls safe use of web applications and applications of social networks in the organization. Thus, the organizations can avoid blocking of the whole websites and use all commercial advantages of web applications, including the websites of social networks with the built-in applications (for example, Facebook).
