COMSOL Server

COMSOL Server is the server of the application development environment. It is developed especially for applications launch, COMSOL Multiphysics softwares created by means of Application Builder.

A system allows users of COMSOL Multiphysics to construct the intuitive interface of models of the application which can be created by any user without preliminary experience of modeling. Applications can be available to all organization using clients of Windows OS or the web browser, providing project teams, production workshops and other users with access to the modeling tools created by experts.

2015: COMSOL Server 5.2

On November 18, 2015 the COMSOL company announced release of version 5.2 of the COMSOL Server server.

Upgraded by software increased overall performance. To reduce load time of the selected application, the administrator can turn on for it preliminary loading in the section of Prelaunching (Preliminary start) on the page of settings. By default COMSOL Server executes automatic preliminary loading of the application which was started by the last.

These improvements allow to accelerate applications launch fivefold.

There was an opportunity to specify the only specific application which should be used for COMSOL Server copy. If this parameter is included, then the selected application will be started at once at user login — for this purpose it will not be required to address Library of applications.

Applications are started directly from the client of COMSOL Client using the COMSOL Server interface.

The option of recovery of connection to earlier started application is created. After application launch from Library of applications it will appear in the section of Running Applications (The run applications). The user can recover connection to the application even after closing of a tab of the browser or a window of the client of COMSOL Client with the application. The section of Running Applications (The run applications) for each application contains a unique identifier of a session, the stop button allowing to close completely a session with the application and also a pop-up menu with two commands of recovery of connection: in the browser and using the client of COMSOL Client.

The user can create labels which will allow to start quickly most often used applications directly from a desktop.

The Favorites panel (Favorites) is deleted from library of applications: its role executes the mechanism of sorting and filtering now. In this application version it is possible to filter on existence in favorites, on availability (parameter can accept one of three values: Public (Public), All groups (All groups), Private (Private)) and also on separate groups.
