As Severstal implemented a quality control system of repair and service

On November 23, 2015 it became known of an implementation project in Severstal company of the complete solution for increase in level of quality control of works on repair and service of production assets. Integrator in the project SAP company.

Project Tasks

Severstal needed reduction of operating time of technical specialists of industrial enterprises of the company and increase in efficiency of monitoring of faults, the speed of their elimination.

To requirements of Severstal there corresponded the mobile Zebra computers of a corporate class intended for work on industrial facilities.

Project Progress

Using mobile computers Zebra Technologies MC75HF and TC 70 Symbol the project covered 3 thousand users at the enterprises of the customer in Cherepovets, St. Petersburg and Balakovo.

As a result of end of the pilot using 50 mobile MC75HF computers, equipment downtimes upon low-quality maintenance were reduced several times, the frequency of detection of defects at an early stage increased much. The company made the decision on further scaling of the project within which turned on more than 1 thousand TC 70 devices in workflow.

Project Results

The share of the auxiliary time spent for work in IT systems was reduced, the level of performing discipline increased, optimization of document flow is performed and the quality of the data necessary for efficiency analysis of maintenance and repairs with the general growth of their volume is increased.

The project was integrated by the company SAP, it developed the comprehensive solution combining specialized software of management of repair and maintenance and the hardware platform provided by mobile computers MC75 HF Zebra and TC70 Zebra.

• Computers MC75 HF Zebra also TC70 Zebra conform to requirements imposed to mobile terminals which are used in production processes of the company "Severstal" – they function with the broad temperature range, have the hermetic package, have high shock resistance and maintain repeated falling.

• Using Zebra technology, the technician scans tags of radio frequency identification (RFID) and receives the task transferred in the automatic mode directly on the device screen. Upon completion of repair the technician sends the report on the performed work, using Work Manager SAP application installed on its mobile computer.

• The protected mobile Zebra computers are intended for accomplishment of service and repair work: from the moment of receiving a task by the technician before control of the status of execution of works, including collecting and transfer of the indications necessary for assessment of level of reliability of the equipment.

• End of circulation of the project is expected in the fourth quarter 2015.
