The role of a source of manpower for the defense industry was confirmed with university at the federal level: in 2014 the university won a victory in competition "The new personnel for a MIC, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation for strengthening of personnel potential of the Russian MIC. As partners of university in tender leaders of the Russian MIC and large-scale users of software products of ASCON – NPK "KBM" (Kolomna), "Naval Underwater Weapons — Gidropribor" Concern (St. Petersburg), GOZ "Obukhovski Plant" (St. Petersburg) acted.
