The GPS Ministry of Emergency Situations St. Petersburg university is equipped with the center of virtual reality

On December 2, 2015 the VE Group company announced the project of creation of the center of virtual reality by request of the GPS Emercom of Russia St. Petersburg University.

The center should solve the problems of psychological and psychophysiological diagnostics, preparation, prevention and rehabilitation directed to optimization of physical and psychological state and ensuring professional reliability of employees and employees of Emercom of Russia.

Project Progress

At the heart of the solution proposed by VE Group a stationary projective system from three screens of the return projection (three walls) and the screen of a direct projection (floor) forming a cube (or in a different way — CAVE — the room of virtual reality) Full Full HD resolution providing immersion in virtual environment. A system kontolya movements enhances effect, imitating perception 3D - to information is similar to holography, allows the user to interact at the intuitive level with objects of virtual reality and to receive a feedback at the expense of what the effect of "virtual environment" — a virtual environment is reached.

The special psychophysiological equipment integrated into CAVE in real time controls, writes and analyzes a psychophysiological status of the person, depending on extent of impact on it different virtual scenes.

There is an opportunity to create different 3D - scenes, to visualize them in a system, to change depending on movements and psychological state of the user. The turned-out hardware and software system on the basis of modern technologies of virtual reality - the tool for creation of virtual exercise machines, modeling of different situations, assessment and correction of a psychophysiological status of professional groups of Emercom of Russia, their training.

Ilya Viger, the chief executive of VE Group, noted:

- The scope of the systems of virtual reality for psychological tasks rather wide is and treatment of phobias, fight against stresses, training in technicians of self-checking, unloading, etc. But, besides, this center of virtual reality can be extremely effective when carrying out serious scientific research, training and working off of difficult acceptances, preparation for work in emergency situations with the maximum effect of immersion and also as means of decision support during the collective work of specialists of different areas.

Alexander Zykov, the assistant department head of planning, the organization and coordination of scientific research of the center of the organization of research and editorial activity, the captain of internal service, told:

- The main task of our hardware and software system is an improvement of physical and psychological state of employees and students. We also plan that here the staff of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will purchase in addition: skills and abilities in the field of psychology and also to develop necessary professional qualities.
