The printing house of Far Eastern Federal University increased the speed and printing quality thanks to installation of the Xerox Versant 80 Pro CFM 

December 8, 2015. The printing house of Far Eastern Federal University (DVFU) reported^[1] about installations of the digital Xerox Versant 80 Pro printing machine. Using the CFM the customer could increase the speed and printing quality, to expand the range of a printed material and to optimize costs. The project was implemented by the business partner of Xerox — Aktsent company.

Choosing a Solution

DVFU has own printing house in which it was used by the Xerox DocuColor 240 CFM earlier. The management of university made the decision to update the park of the full-color polygraphic equipment to expand the range of printed materials, to increase its quality, to reduce costs for supplies and to accelerate order processing.

When choosing the suitable solution the analysis of competitive offers and complex comparison of the products presented at the market was carried out. Specialists Xerox and Accent jointly booked audit of the printing park of DVFU printing house, requirements analysis of the customer and a detailed research of tasks of printing house of the university. As a result of this work the company suggested university to install full-color the Xerox Versant 80 Pro CFM with an industrial finisher stitcher and the external controller. This machine attracted representatives of DVFU with printing quality and cost of a print.

Full-color the Xerox Versant 80 Pro CFM belongs to the polygraphic equipment of average output. The machine prints with a speed up to 80 pages per minute on materials with a density from 52 to 350 g/m2, including plastics and the textured paper. Xerox Versant 80 Pro maintains the maximum load to 460,000 pages a month.

Result

Thanks to permission of printing of 2400×2400 dpi and permission of rasterization of 1200×1200 dpi with depth of color of 10 bits the machine saves the maximum quantity of fine details in the diagram and the text and also perfectly transfers tone transitions. The machine is equipped with a packet of the Simple Image Quality Adjustment (SIQA) tools which provides coincidence tuning of data of the person with turnover and also regulates uniformity of density of filling according to the sheet and transfer currents. Thanks to the high performance and the built-in instruments of automation the machine allows to increase efficiency of processing of limited orders as much as possible. For increase in accuracy of color reproduction in the CFM the packet of the Confident Colour tools is implemented. This system supports the leading industry standards and provides faultless hit at color from circulation to circulation. At the same time in the PRO configuration of the Xerox Versant 80 Pro CFM  it is equipped with more powerful controller.

The machine was successfully set and brought into operation. On it brochures, the training benefits, calendars, souvenirs, a promoproduktion and other printed materials are made. In a project deliverable DVFU printing house could expand product assortment and quicker execute orders.
