December 08, 2015. Company "1C: The first BIT" was reported[1] about project completion on complex automation of the Vilofoss company producing fodder mixes for farm animals under the brand of the same name. The system created on the basis of the solution "1C: Manufacturing Enterprise Management" helped to optimize production planning, purchases, to reduce the losses connected with the expiration of expiration dates of raw materials, to organize operational inventory control.
Choosing a Solution
Earlier at the enterprise operational and production accounting was not automated. For processing of the entering orders and formation of the diagram of production spreadsheets were used. Managers planned purchases of raw materials on the basis of data of the accounting program. At the same time an inventory control was kept manually and data on a remaining balance could come to a system with a big delay. There were situations when required raw materials did not appear available, and then order fulfillment dragged on. Or, on the contrary, there were too much raw materials of one type, it lay too long in a warehouse, and the enterprise incurred the losses connected with the expiration of its validity. Cost value was also calculated manually, it was difficult to control costs and profitability of release.
The information system which would allow to accelerate processing of the entering orders was required for Vilofoss company, to adjust accounting of raw materials and finished goods in a warehouse, to increase cost accounting accuracy, to provide operational scheduling of production and purchases. To accelerate delivery of orders to buyers, it was required to optimize work of service of logistics.
For the solution of assigned tasks the management of Vilofoss invited specialists "1C: The first BIT". As the software product the 1C: Manufacturing Enterprise Management system was selected.
Project Progress
According to the results of the project operational accounting of raw materials and finished goods in two warehouses of the enterprise was organized. Now technologists and supply managers in the online mode obtain exact information on a remaining balance of raw materials and consumption of each its type for the calendar period. It helps to plan more rationally purchases and a holiday of raw materials in production. The equipment downtimes connected with the shortage of raw materials are reduced, the losses connected with the expiration of terms of its validity are excluded. Production is fully provided with quality raw materials for accomplishment of each arrived order, told in 1C.
At the same time, process of acceptance of raw materials and a container is optimized. A system contains information on what specialist is responsible for what stage and that at this stage needs to be checked. It allows to control accurately quality and amount of the received raw materials and a container and to react quickly to their mismatch to the set regulations, explained in the company.
In turn, solution integration "1C: Manufacturing Enterprise Management" with the system of calculation of recipes for production allowed to calculate cost value of finished goods quickly. Fast and exact calculation of expected costs helps to optimize expenses already at a stage of production planning and to control profitability of release.
All information on cooperation with clients is stored in a system now: history of orders and settlement, receipt documents and shipments, agreements, contact information and also scans of specifications. Thus, managers do not spend time for search of the necessary information any more. It helps to process more quickly orders and to control execution of contractual commitments.
The timely product delivery is provided to buyers. Each order is entered now in the calendar, access to which all responsibles have. The diagram of shipments of the order forms on the basis of the production schedule which is kept in a system. And already according to it the staff of the company agrees with the organization carrier about lease of transport in due time. As soon as the order is ready, it without delays goes to the buyer, noted in 1C.
All this helped the company to optimize production management and sale: as the result, by the customer's estimates, increased volume of production for unit of time, accomplishment of orders accelerated for 30%. The company could attract new large customers and increase scales of the profile activity.
The CEO of Vilofoss Oleg Kozlov so commented on project results: "At the time of the beginning of the project we had no clear understanding of where we can reduce costs and as it is possible to make our business more effective. We lacked the summarized information for planning, management and control of the activity. Therefore important management decisions often had to be made intuitively. Having implemented 1C: Manufacturing Enterprise Management, we brought order to the work, contacted new clients, set up with them cooperation, accelerated order processing terms. Also are sure that, having automated production, we took a major step in development of our business".
