Interview with the director of production solutions of Galaktika corporation Denis Lyamshev

Denis Lyamshev, the director of production solutions of Galaktika corporation, in an interview of TAdviser told about a new solution for automation of interfactory interaction "Galaktika of MCM".

Denis Lyamshev: Refuse automation of intercooperation interaction today, means that already tomorrow the industry will remain without a managing part

TAdviser: Tell how the solution "Galaktika of MCM" was created and what problems it solves?

Denis Lyamshev: In a work progress with our customers from a MIC essential tasks which needed to be solved using development of a management system for interfactory cooperation were revealed. The revealed tasks belonged not so much to own production how many to management of difficult supply chains.

So, as a result of development of a system of organizational management the idea of creation of a new solution also appeared. Planning of a supply network, distribution of orders between participants of cooperation, planning and control of an adherence to deadlines and supply rates of the nomenclature for final assembly and finished product output at head enterprise was required. The solution of these tasks was studied based on a system Galaktika AMM - Advanced Manufacturing Management then the idea of creation of "Galaktika of MCM" - Manufacturing Cooperation Management was born.

Further the address of the potential customer who suggested us to participate in work on creation of the model of a management system for planning of cooperation deliveries for specific items within import substitution followed. It was necessary to offer such organization of work and to provide the software product which would allow to plan network of cooperation so that processes in it could be optimized regarding terms and labor input of formation of difficult network diagrams.

On the basis of these requirements the operating system model was created. The data loaded into it, allowed to plan a supply network for production of 150 products for a period of one year ahead on all chain of cooperation at once, and these are about 5-6 plants processing in total about 2500 nomenclature positions.

It should be noted that a new system is the superstructure made based on Galaktika AMM. Other interpretation of the objects existing in a system allowed to understand that Galaktika AMM can be used also for management of cooperation production.

TAdviser: Whether there are similar solutions of domestic or foreign developers?

Denis Lyamshev: Some, analogs exist, however, all of them are developed in the West. At the same time "the Galaktika of MCM" has a number of important differences. So, competitive solutions plan a supply network for mass, serial production where the main parameter is optimization of logistics, storage time, warehouse stocks. In "Galaktika of MCM" the focus is shifted to reduction of time of planning and also reduction of labor input of control of difficult single-piece production.

If to speak about domestic analogs, then they are absent yet. There are systems allowing to control deliveries within state defense order, but the essence of control comes down to plan-fact comparison of budgets and comparisons of expenditure of payments with purpose. "The Galaktika of MCM" unlike these systems, is based on creation of network diagrams of deliveries of products and comparison of any events with these diagrams. At the same time we provide correction of changes in real time.

TAdviser: What target audience at "Galaktika of MCM"?

Denis Lyamshev: It is possible to carry the space industry, defense industry, difficult mechanical engineering to target audience of a system — where small batches are made, each product can have the modification. It is also worth noting that our solution corresponds to the federal law on the state defense order taking into account the last additions. A system performs planning at the level of the nomenclature whereas competitors manage only financial flows, the relations with government institutions regarding transfer of finished goods and carrying out payments.

TAdviser: Tell about the main systems capabilities.

Denis Lyamshev: We represent the enterprises, interacting among themselves in a production process as units having the resource potential of accomplishment of certain work types at the same time we provide automation of creation of this resource model. Also we represent the made products as network of the stages of production deliveries created on the basis of design documentation and the containing assessment of duration and labor input of accomplishment of each stage. The solution also automates collecting and the analysis of a current status of execution of works due to integration with the systems of each enterprise.

It allows us to reveal discrepancies at all stages of lifecycle of the order, and not just under the signed contracts and the adopted budgets. For example, if agreements are signed with the enterprises which do not participate in process of production of products. We can also see at a stage of signing of the contract that terms of its accomplishment will not allow to provide execution of all state defense order. A system is capable to provide shifts on accomplishment stages within some sets of factors. For example, what will be if to change priorities of orders, quantity, delivery dates? A system right there will count network diagrams and will tell whether it is possible. Also can offer options of shift of terms, or changes of volumes, or, having selected bottlenecks, will prompt what capacities it is necessary to add on perspective of several years in order that the plants coped with accomplishment of GOZ.

TAdviser: What advantages are got by customers after implementation of "Galaktika of MCM"?

Denis Lyamshev: A system reduces influence of a human factor on all cooperation chain. For example, if unfair suppliers / contractors try to appropriate the state money and a system gives the chance at a stage of contracting to eliminate such companies to sign agreements with the enterprises phony companies which in principle have no right to execute these orders. She knows that agreements should be signed only under those orders which were planned by a system. And if within the order someone tries to sign the agreement not according to the works on the order planned by a system, then it means potential risk and a system pays attention to it.

Also "the Galaktika of MCM" in real time shows potential shifts in production of products and failures to meet time constraints of accomplishment of the state order when even before the accomplishment there can be several months, and even years.

If to assume simply that the cycle of assembly of any product takes several months, and the cycle of production of component parts for it can reach of half a year about one year, then it becomes clear: the head enterprise has no knowledge of a possibility of all network of suppliers. The risk is high that without having information, we will assume obligations and terms which we can not keep within. It leads or to essential additional financial labor costs, or to failures to meet time constraints.

Besides, the enterprises should change all system of vendor relations. Earlier approval happened discretely on levels of network of cooperation, i.e. we estimate the opportunities for production and we distribute to the suppliers orders or we expose requirements that it is necessary for us and in what volumes. The supplier studies it, reports data to the contractors and so occurs at many levels of cooperation. Respectively then all information on network gathers in the opposite direction, rises upward and only in several months we learn about an opportunity to make products.

"The Galaktika of MCM" will allow to reduce these cycles to several days, but for this purpose it is necessary to accept certain organizational changes. Each enterprise should work so that to have connection to a system where in real time all new potential tasks are visible. And they are farther or using the information systems, or in an expert way estimate the opportunities and confirm them. Then Galaktika of MCM collects all resource opportunities from all enterprises. It is necessary to pay attention that if the cooperation network of the enterprises is within one holding, and it knows about the resource opportunities, number of staff, then this process occupies not days of the week, and hours.

TAdviser: What is the time occupies system implementation?

Denis Lyamshev: We can create the working model of management using this information system at the enterprise approximately for 1.5-2. And it can be the holding having under itself network of the enterprises which is responsible as a result for production, or it can be head enterprise, i.e. that body which plans release of a final product. The main time is the share not of solution deployment, and of collecting and data processing and of changes of organizational procedures. We should get used and begin to trust a system, we put in it data and we receive a certain result to which we follow.
