Deutsche Telekom: DSI Intercloud

DSI Intercloud is a public cloud on the Cisco platform and DPC of Deutsche Telekom in Germany. Service is focused on support of safe Internet of Things in the territory of Europe.

On December 11, 2015 the company Deutsche Telekom announced commissioning of a public cloud on the platform Cisco. Start of services SaaS also PaaS will happen on this platform during the first half of 2016, according to the statement of the company.

The public cloud corresponds to the German legislation on the sovereignty of data. Service is referred to as as DSI Intercloud. It is "infrastructure as service" (infrastructure-as-a-service, IaaS). Works on operation of service and its management, it is necessary to execute T-Systems companies on the basis of the data processing centers (DPC).

It is supposed that in December, 2015 any company, irrespective of the size will have an opportunity via the cloud DT portal to order IT services of calculations, data storage and creations of networks, with payment on the actual consumption (pay-as-you-go). Use of service does not provide the minimum order size, the contract period.

Starting service, DT uses technologies of information security, creates the base for Internet of Things (Internet of Things, IoT) by means of which will provide availability and scalability to analytical real-time calculations in Europe. Providing services "the platform as service" (platform-as-a-service, PaaS) and "the software as service" (software-as-a-service, SaaS) is planned on the first half of 2016.

The Covata company became the customer of infrastructure services DSI Intercloud, it specializes in area of data security. Interest in an open cloud platform was shown by the unify company operating in the field of communications and joint work.

For Cisco this project - promotion of an initiative of Intercloud which it announced in 2014 for the purpose of simplification of creation of a hybrid cloud environment for the companies and the organizations.

DT sees in cooperation about Cisco an important component of expansion of own cloud business. She intends to strengthen the position in the European market of cloud business services, and by the end of 2018 more than to double "cloud" turnover. In plans DT - to toughen the competition to the companies Google and Amazon.

On December 11, 2015 the company warned: a number of products and functions, within this project, so far at different development stages will also be offered in process of their readiness, and Cisco reserved the right - to make any changes to products and functions, without bearing responsibility for possible delays or lack of deliveries of the mentioned products, functions and services.
