2015: Ecological business of IBM and Microsoft in China
In December, 2015 in Beijing the red highest level of ecological danger because of the dense smog which shrouded the capital and caused by exhaust gases of cars and emissions of the enterprises was announced. On a problem of environmental pollution IBM, Microsoft and other IT companies offering technologies of prediction of purity of air can make good money, Reuters reports.
Similar services, using cognitive calculations, are capable to calculate the level of pollution of an atmospheric air on 10 days ahead. The forecast is under construction on the basis of weather reports, intensity of automobile traffic, the practiced types of land use in this or that territory. Besides, data from the state monitoring stations of environmental pollution and even the message from social networks are considered.
Locating data on the future ecological situation, the power can take measures for restriction of driving for highways, transfer of sporting events, closing of schools, the airports and the harmful plants in advance.
In 2014 Microsoft and IBM began to supply the Chinese state clients with the instruments of forecasting of air quality developed in research laboratories of the IT companies in Celestial Empire.
The bureau on environmental protection of Beijing (enters into the Ministry of environmental protection of China), which by means of technology of the American corporation creates levels of ecological danger and appropriates them colors became the first client of IBM. Besides, with assistance of state "blue giant" in December, 2015 opened the joint ecological innovation center (Joint Environmental Innovation Center) in which researchers of the company and specialists from profile state institutions of the country work.
In turn Microsoft agreed about cooperation with the ministry of environmental protection of China and bureau of environmental protection in the Provinces of Fujian and Chengdu.
"The attention to services of forecasting of quality of an atmospheric air increases. More and more people are interested in this information technology" — the researcher of Microsoft Yu Yu Zheng reported.
It is curious that despite environmental problems the city authorities publish in China on the website the forecast about a status of an atmospheric air for only 24 hours ahead so inhabitants cannot foreknow about when the red level of danger is expected.[1]
