"Or to De Botha" upgraded a backup system

On December 14, 2015 the Linxdatacenter company announced creation of distributed system of backup of IT infrastructure by request of Or De Bote network.

Project Tasks

In 2014 the headquarters of the French company Sephora, the owner of a controlling stake "Or De Bote", set the task - to bring IT infrastructure into accord with corporate standards for the Russian management. One of conditions - the organization of regular creation not less than two backup copies of IT systems, one of which should be stored far off, out of own server platform. Considering options of upgrade of the operating system and the service of BaaS (Backup as a Service) offered Linxdatacenter the management "Or De Bote" made the decision on replacement of a backup system and its subsequent transfer on service to provider.

Project Progress

Before the beginning work, specialists of Linxdatacenter and the customer in detail described requirements to service of backup and made the decision to deploy the BaaS service in an individual configuration, taking into account specifics of the customer.

The sphere of responsibility and support of provider entered:

• the management system for backup of CommVault Simpana placed on two platforms in the failsafe mode
• the allocated channel connecting by DPC of Linxdatacenter and the platform of the customer
• the server hardware on both platforms intended for the distributed processing of transactions of copying and storage of archives.

Project Results

As a result the scheme of backup with the high level of availability and opportunities of data recovery from two geographically distributed archives – local and remote is organized. This solution is used within cloud service model according to which the customer independently manages the schedule of creation of backup copies and transactions of recovery by means of a control panel. Calculation of cost of service on the basis of the total amount of data of the IT systems connected to BaaS service is on monthly results carried out.

We carefully and deliberately approached a question of transfer of a system of a backup of business and critical applications on outsourcing and to the choice of service provider.
