"Swagger" transferred information systems of MTS to the x86/Linux Intel platform

The FORS group, the Russian developer and integrator of information systems, executed the project on transfer of the main information systems of Mobile TeleSystems company (MTS), namely — database servers FORIS OSS, from the platform SPARC/Solaris on Intel x86 platform /Linux

As told in the company, the main difficulty of the implemented project was the fact that migration was required to be carried out in the conditions of very limited "idle time window" (the requirement of business for the crucial systems) at large volumes of data which needed to be moved to the new platform. Having shown creative approach, the command of FORS developed a special technique, held detailed testing and optimization of each step of the plan of migration. On a response of the customer, all team members — from heads to linear specialists — always quickly reacted to requests, provided the weighed recommendations, quickly solved any arising problems.
