2009: Transition to Oracle E-Business Suite

TsV PROCEEDED is formed in November, 1990. Works at the market of pharmaceutical distribution since 1993. Now it is the largest domestic distributor of pharmaceutical products. Suppliers of TsV PROCEEDED are more than 900 Russian and foreign producers of medicines. The TsV PROCEEDED regional network consists of 40 branches located in the regional centers of Russia, 39 representations and 12 warehouses depots.

Cooperation of TopS BI and TsV PROCEEDED began fall of 2001 when TopS BI acted as the consultant of business development in the Internet. Based on inspection by specialists of TopS BI the strategy of use of modern Internet technologies for the solution of relevant business challenges of the enterprise was offered. In 2002 in TsV PROCEEDED the decision on transfer of crucial business functions to the ERP system was made. A choice was made for benefit of the solution Oracle E-Business Suite, and by preparation for change of a system by specialists of TopS BI several projects on upgrade of IT infrastructure of the company were implemented.

Project on audit IT infrastuktury. Specialists of TopS BI booked audit of the available system of servers and also the consolidated Data storage center which included a complex of equipment rooms and software tools of data storage, backup and archiving and also a management tool this complex.

Project on creation of the data processing center (DPC). The engineering design of DPC including the program of upgrade of the server platform, a storage system, backup system, the equipment of SAN network, network infrastructure, management system was developed.

Project on upgrade of network infrastructure. The complexity of the project was that the main requirement of TsV PROCEEDED was ensuring continuity of functioning of network services of the company during work on upgrade. Specialists of TopS BI developed a techno detail design of upgrade of TsV PROCEEDED network which implementation allowed to perform all works almost without stopping of functioning of network.

Project on creation of a management system for IT infrastructure. For the organization of systems management and monitoring by TopS BI company solutions on the basis of HP OpenView Operations were proposed. Specialists of TopS BI unrolled this system and configured its interaction with applications.

Further specialists of TopS BI carried out works on development of a management system for IT resources. In 2003 automation of dispatching IT service "TsV PROCEEDED" based on the software of HP of OV Service Desk was made. During the project the following tasks were solved.

The uniform center of technical support of users is created. The possibility of consolidation of all main objectives of management of IT infrastructure and functional separation of areas of responsibility and powers of employees of technical support service of users is organized.

Quick access to information on use by the staff of the company of IT services, program and the hardware is provided to IT service. The possibility of redistribution of requests between specialists of IT service according to their competence and qualification of a specific problem area is created. It allows to resolve quicker and more effectively the arising issues. The mechanism of increase in a priority of service of requests and problem solving is provided.

According to ITIL, incident management processes, configuration management and changes were implemented and automated. Further development of the integrated management system for IT resources according to management model by IT services (ITSM) is in the long term planned.

Project on creation of a management system for network workstations. The TopS BI company proposed product-based solutions of Altiris. Specialists of TopS BI executed techno design engineering, deployed the "pilot" stand at which jointly with specialists of the customer procedures of management of lifecycle of workstations were debugged. Including processes of inventory, software distribution, remote control. After debugging of all procedures of management, specialists of TopS BI developed a complete set of operational documentation, unrolled a management system for workstations in all automated workplaces of users and configured its interaction with the automation system of dispatching service.

Besides, since January, 2003 consultants of TopS BI and specialists of TsV PROCEEDED implement an implementation project of the ERP system of Oracle E-Business Suite. Essential features of the project are its scale which is connected with simultaneous implementation of a large number of the functions automating practically all financial and economic activities of the enterprise and also the centralized solution architecture providing the unified operation of a system in branches and Head enterprise.

According to the strategy of TsV PROCEEDED on transition to a uniform ERP system, at the first stage system implementation in "pilot" branches was performed. On the basis of operating experience of a system in branches preparation for implementation of Oracle E-Business Suite in Head enterprise is conducted. Such approach allows to reduce risks when replacing applications, critical for business.

In 2004 in "pilot" branches start of the ERP system in commercial operation was performed. A system supports all main business cycle of branches, including sales, management of a warehouse, shipments and the goods deliveries to clients, accounting of receivables and payables, data of data for accounting, calculations for regional taxes.

Besides, standardization of business processes of branch was performed, the method of quick start of the ERP system in branches is developed that allows to replicate ready-made solutions. The head enterprise in real time has the complete information about work of "pilot" branches.

By the end of 2006 a system was successfully started in seven branches "TsV PROCEEDED" and also at Head enterprise regarding financial accounting (three types of accounting are implemented: management accounting according to the US GAAP standards; Russian accounting; Russian tax accounting).

Now system deployment in branches, development of its functionality continues.
