"The Ural customs authority" held a competition on rendering VPN services

Rostelecom won at the beginning of 2016 an electronic auction on the right of communication services provision on the organization of the main information exchange between telecommunication nodes of customs authorities in an area of coverage of the Ural customs authority. According to the contract the leading Internet service provider will continue to ensure functioning of a virtual private network (Virtual Private Network, VPN) which integrates more than fifty points of the Ural customs in a common information space, and will connect to it three new points in Yekaterinburg and the field camp of Sabetta located in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area. The amount of the semi-annual contract was over 28 million rubles.

The VPN network of the controlling organization provides data exchange between its divisions in the Ural Federal District at a speed up to 40 Mbps. High-speed access to a data network is provided including to koltsovsky customs of V.A. Sorokin, customs posts of Roshchino International Airport in Tyumen, Balandino in Chelyabinsk, to the airports in Magnitogorsk, Nizhnevartovsk, Surgut, Khanty-Mansiysk, in the territory of Nizhniy Tagil Iron and Steel Works – one of the largest metallurgy sector in Russia.

For achievement of the most effective organization of customs processes information exchange should be the stablest, protected and reliable and also to cover and integrate all objects of customs authorities in a single network. All above-mentioned criteria are achievable only when using advanced technologies", - Alexander Davydov, the head of department of telecommunications, communication and sistemotekhnichesky providing computer aids of the Ural customs authority tells.

As Vadim Makarov, the director of the Ekaterinburg branch PJSC Rostelecom notes: "Cooperation with the Ural customs authority began in 1999. Now VPN organizations are included by 58 points in the Ural Federal District. Service of the VPN organization - the high-tech solution for creation of the single protected virtual network without construction of network infrastructure and costs for its service. Tender on communication provision of services the Ural customs authority spends each half a year. Requirements imposed by the state organizations to telecom operators high. It is convinced that our further cooperation, as before, will be fruitful".

Rostelecom will organize VPN for the clients based on own network of package switching (IP/MPLS) with a capacity about 2 Tbit / page. High parameters of reliability and availability of network are provided due to reservation and optimization of traffic flows and guaranteed by the Agreement on the service level (SLA). Besides, Rostelecom has the certificate of conformity of network of package switching to requirements of information security of the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control (FSTEC of the Russian Federation).

The VPN organization from Rostelecom at any level is possible: local, regional, federal and international. Regardless of mutual remoteness of networks or offices of the client, service of VPN ensure their complete connection, safety of data transmission, smooth operation and interaction of any business applications.
