The Rostelecom Internet service provider won at the beginning of 2016 an electronic auction on the right of rendering services in leasing of inter-chip digital links of Federal State Budgetary Institution The Ural Management on Hydrometeorology and Monitoring of the Environment. Telecom technologies will help weather forecasters to provide daily to inhabitants of the Urals complete hydrometeorological information and, first of all, a weather forecast.

The digital channels created on the basis of infrastructure of Rostelecom integrate branches of organization in Yekaterinburg, Kurgan, Perm, Chelyabinsk and provide the high-speed, protected and round-the-clock transfer of various specialized data. Capacity of channels makes 128 Kbps.

As Irina Aleksandrovna Pankrashkina notes, the engineer on control of passing of information of service of automated systems of data transmission of Federal State Budgetary Institution Uralskoye UGMS, "Collecting and distribution of information, office correspondence is performed round the clock. In organization the local communication system is used today. But transfer of hydrometeorological data between our branches takes place only on inter-chip digital links which provide the steady, high-quality and protected exchange of meteorological, climatic, hydrological, agrometeorological information, including this to ozonometry, air pollutions, snow-measuring shootings, short-term and long-term forecasts of weather".
