Esri AppStudio for ArcGIS

Esri AppStudio for ArcGIS is the environment for creating applications of ArcGIS on different platforms.

On December 23, 2015 the company Esri CIS announced release of the final version of Esri AppStudio for ArcGIS v1.0. The applications created using AppStudio can be started on devices Android iOS Windows, OS X and Linux.

AppStudio simplifies the publication of author's applications in Apple App Store and Google Play.

By software of AppStudio for ArcGIS it is specially developed for the simplest and, at the same time, effective creating applications, including, using ready templates. For the publication of the application at once for all widespread mobile and desktop platforms the same program code is used.

The applications created in AppStudio are organized on Qt/QML technology. The received cross-platform code can be compiled for any of platforms – iOS, Android, Windows, Mac and Linux.

Process of application creation in AppStudio for ArcGIS consists of several stages:

• using templates or native code the application is written.
• through the menu, platforms for which it is required to compile the code are selected.
• after that the project (the QML code, images, configuration files) is compiled in a cloud and to the developer the notification and the link for loading of the ready install file comes.

In AppStudio applications are created using ArcGIS runtime SDK for Qt - AppStudio contains the same Runtime basic components, as many applications of Esri. Among them: Colector for ArcGIS, Operations Dashboard for ArcGIS and ArcGIS Earth.

Licensing

Two options of licensing AppStudio work: as Basic and Standard.

According to developers, AppStudio Basic is ideal for those who are not a developer, but wants to create the applications available to other users of ArcGIS on the basis of the cards. With the help of AppStudio Standard it is possible to create native code of QML and to distribute the AppStudio applications in scales of all enterprise.
