ELAR scanned the "Doma N. V. Gogolya" editions

Moscow, on January 28, 2016. - In "House H. B. of Gogol" transferred editions of the beginning of the XX century to a digital form.

Literature which is the most valuable source of knowledge for philologists and historians will be available in the electronic reading room of library of the House of Gogol. "And, of course, we aim to ensure safety of these editions, - the manager of department of the subscription Elena Shtanko tells, - as almost each of them – a rare book. Earlier forces of ELAR to a digital format transfer books from Gogoliana fund and a big array of ancient musical editions".

Among the books from Gogol's House which became electronic - "Greatness and falling of Rome" of G. Ferrero in five volumes. The monograph by the Italian historian was only once republished in Russia by publishing house M. and S. Sabashnikov in the second decade of the XX century. Of Ferrero in 1914 the Utro Rossii newspaper estimated emergence of work so: "In rich literature on the history of Ancient Rome along with works of Englishman Gibbon, Mommsen's Germans, Gertsberg, etc. the most modern to us work of the Italian Mr. Ferrero nearly the most interesting ….". And book "Apollon Grigoryev. Materials for the biography", left in revolutionary Petrograd in 1917, and today remains the most complete source of biographic information on the Russian poet for specialists and students language and literature teachers.
