On December 17, 2015 announced ALAN IT project implementation of SAM Baseline and SAM Assessment at Domodedovo Airport.
The IT park of Domodedovo Airport is provided ~ 6 thousand units of the PC, more than 400 virtual machines and 600 physical and virtual servers.
Tasks
Entered the list of tasks of integrator:
- license reconciliation of the software of Microsoft;
- assessment of the existing scheme of licensing and formation of the specification within the next purchase of software;
- overall assessment of process performance of SAM.
Work on the project
In the beginning implemented the SAM Baseline project within the Microsoft SAM Services program. During its implementation the exact number of the used and unused licenses is defined, recommendations about implementation of not used software, updating of outdated software are developed, possibilities of cross licensing with other vendors are set (in this case with SITA).
 | As the tool on collecting and data validation Microsoft Assessment and Planning (MAP) Toolkit 9.2. as it is free was selected and solves relevant project tasks. As the alternative tool LANDesk which was implemented at the client for management of IT infrastructure was used. According to the results of the first stage of the project the stock of licenses regarding Windows Server which the Domodedovo Airport can use by new machines further is confirmed. Are estimated the database server on which SQL Server was unrolled; optimal schemes of licensing of the DB servers are offered.

With the help ALAN IT, we solved a problem of optimum allocation of the available licenses SQL SERVER which complexity consisted as available licenses for cores, and Server+CA. At the second stage the project of assessment of processes SAM (SAM Assessment) is implemented. Its purpose - to increase capability of the organization to manage own IT assets, to lower and take costs for IT under control. The assessment was carried out by comparison of the main competences with model of optimization SAM (SAM Optimization Model).
End of the Project
Project participants analyzed processes on the main competences of the customer, their status, risks and advantages connected with the level of IT organization development.
Level of processes of management of IT assets at Domodedovo Airport is determined as "rationalized". The research of a perspective status of processes of SAM in the customer's IT infrastructure is conducted, recommendations for increase in level of operational reliability are submitted.
