Release of a reference payment of TZ1200

On September 20, 2017 the Toshiba Electronics Europe company announced release of a reference payment for the graphic processors Toshiba App-Lite TZ1200.

Reference payment - a part of an ecosystem of platforms of the development allowing designers to configure and develop wearable devices and technologies for Internet of Things.

Reference payment of TZ1200, (2017)

The reference payment represents the full-function solution including principal components for fast creation and debugging of prototypes. At the heart of a system the graphic processor App-Lite TZ1200 with low power consumption on the basis of the 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4F processor working with clock rate 96 or 120 MHz at consumption of current in an active mode of the 70th micro ampere/MHz.

TZ1200 contains the built-in accelerators of two-dimensional graphics (GFX). They serve as the powerful platform for alpha imposing, drawing, rotation, a teksturization and scaling of images, color conversions in real time. Graphic accelerators in combination with optimized by structure of the bus almost completely release the processor and make the significant contribution to further decrease in energy consumption.

The reference payment contains the IC THGBMHG6C1L, it provides to 8 GB e-MMC flash memory for data storage and loading of application programs. For wireless communication in a system the single-crystal Bluetooth device with low power consumption (BLE 4.2) TC35679 with low energy consumption and the integrated antenna on the printed circuit board is used.

In a form factor of 50 mm x 40 mm connectors for access and expansion are mounted. The connector for connection of the display transmits signals of MIPI DSI, a bit-parallel interface and SPI, allowing the user to connect round, rectangular or specialized displays. A precision analog entry block (AFE) TZ1200 the sigma delta of ATsP, 12-bit ATsP, a 12-bit DAC and a DAC for management of LEDs connected to the AFE connector and allowing to connect such devices as optical pickups of pulse or sensors for the ECG includes 24-bit. Possibilities of expansion are supplemented by the connector for signals of GPIO, ADC, UART, I2C and SPI which supports connection of additional external components for rapid prototyping.

A power supply of a payment of TZ1200 - from accumulators or via the Micro USB connector and the built-in power conditioner.

In addition to prototyping the payment can be used as the platform for software development. Well large number of the free software, including expanded graphic library, graphic drivers, examples of work with graphics, drivers of CMSIS and BLE drivers. The section is also available to users to App-Lite developers on the website of Toshiba which contains different information materials for developers and the software for loading.

For September 20, 2017 deliveries of reference payments of TZ1200 began.

Beginning of serial production of TZ1201XBG

On July 18 Toshiba Electronics Europe (TEE) announced the beginning of serial production of TZ1201XBG — the representative of a series of applied ApP Lite processors for devices of Internet of Things, including wearable devices.

The integrated solution provides ample opportunities of data processing for devices with a low power of power supply

The compact graphic processor distinguishes low power consumption of TZ1201XBG — all 70th micro ampere/MHz in an active mode that is provided with a combination of ARM and built-in management of power supply. According to the company, with the accumulator with a capacity of 350 mA • h and constantly switched on screen hours will be able to work without charging one month when updating every second and two months when updating every minute.

TZ1201XBG is equipped with the integrated fast memory of SRAM with a capacity of 2.2 MB, the expanded controller of the LCD display and four to modern processors of a two-dimensional graphics at the expense of what the high performance of processing of graphics is reached. The full-function processor supports HVGA (480 x 320) displays at update rate of 30 frames/sec. and QVGA (320 x 240) at update rate of 60 frames/sec.

The built-in accelerators of a two-dimensional graphics (GFX) serve as the platform for alpha imposing, drawing, rotation, a teksturization and scaling of images and also for color conversion accomplishment in real time. Graphic accelerators in combination with new the bus optimized by structure almost completely exempt the processor from accomplishment of graphic transactions and make the significant contribution to further decrease in energy consumption.

The precision analog entry block (AFE) is integrated 24-bit by sigma delta of ATsP, 12-bit ATsP, a 12-bit DAC and a DAC for management of LEDs, providing thereby support of direct measurement. It allows to reduce necessary space and to reduce energy consumption due to program filtering.

The built-in audiointerface for processing of voice commands and voice signals in combination with accelerators of a two-dimensional graphics allows to create consumer devices with the high level of functionality.

2016: Release of the TZ1201XBG processor

On January 12, 2016 the Toshiba Electronics Europe company announced release of the applied ApP Lite processor for wearable devices and solutions of Internet of Things (IoT).

TZ1201XBG (2015) processor

The TZ1201XBG device is created on the basis of the high-performance 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4F RISC processor which can work with clock rate to 120 MHz.

As a part of the processor the built-in high-speed static OZU with a capacity of 2.2 MB, there are interfaces of eMMC/SDIO supporting the IC of an external bulk memory, such as SPI NOR, SPI NAND and eMMC. This support allowing for designers flexible approach when choosing memory of the most suitable type and capacity for the developed IC devices.

Use of external sensors and peripheral devices for monitoring of activity and the movement is supported by means of the built-in USB interfaces, UART, SPI and I2C in combination with a hardware module of compression and unpacking of data. It is built-in 24-bit sigma delta of ATsP with an analog preprocessor, he allows to use a broad spectrum of analog sensors.

The ARM Cortex-M4F processor as a part of TZ1201XBG has the active consumed current of the 78th micro ampere/MHz in a normal operation mode. With the software for management of power supply it works about one week in the mode of measurement of pulse or about one month in the mode of watch with the accumulator with a capacity of 200 mAh.

Data protection is provided with support of algorithms of AES and SHA256 and also the built-in generator of true random numbers. Using TZ1201XBG designers can create the solutions with different sensors and high-quality user interfaces consuming the minimum quantity of energy. Device sizes: 8 mm x 8 mm x 0.6 mm.

The beginning of serial production of TZ1201XBG is planned for the middle of 2016.
