A TC series — a line of integrated circuits for automobile information and entertaining systems (IVI).

2018: TC9590, TC9591 и TC9592/3

On June 20, 2018 the Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation company provided a series of bridges for video interfaces intended for modern automobile information and entertaining systems (IVI).

Series of bridges of video interfaces of Toshiba

A series of bridges of video interfaces of Toshiba provides connection of HDMI to MIPI CSI-2 (TC9590), MIPI CSI-2 to a bit-parallel interface and from it (TC9591) and MIPI DSI to the LVDS (TC9592/3) interface. Devices are issued in the VFBGA body with a step of outputs of 0.65 mm the sizes from 5 x 5 mm to 7 x 7 mm, except for TC9590 in the LFBGA64 body the sizes of 7 x 7 mm with a step of outputs of 0.8 mm.

TC9592 with a single-channel exit of LVDS (5 pairs / the channel) is intended for connection of the SoC systems to 24-bit UXGA displays with a resolution of 1600 x 1200. TC9593 has a two-channel exit of LVDS (5 pairs / the channel) and is intended for connection of displays by permission to WUXGA (1920 x 1200).

TC9591 can be configured for conversion of a signal of a 24-bit bit-parallel interface at a frequency of 154 MHz in 4-linear MIPI CSI-2 or a signal of MIPI CSI-2 in 24-bit parallel at a frequency of 100 MHz. TC9590 supports HDMI 1.4a on an input and has 4-linear MIPI CSI-2 interface at the exit.

All devices are intended for work in the temperature range from-40 to +85 °C, and for TC9591XBG the upper limit is increased up to +105 °C, noted in the company.

Deliveries of fact-finding samples of devices began in June, 2018.

2016

TC90175XBG

On September 22, 2016 the Toshiba Electronics Europe company announced release of the TC90175XBG processor. It is focused on work with big displays of high resolution in the systems of auxiliary information for the driver.

TC90175XBG, (2016) processor

The processor is compatible at the level of an output to the previous TC90195XBG model, it supports consolidation of two images on one display. The TC90175XBG processor is intended for creation of the systems which are not requiring consolidation of two images. Feature of TC90175XBG — a possibility of separation of a frame of a big format into two displays. Designers have flexible opportunities of the choice of the most suitable IC taking into account the created device.

The video processor supports panels with permission of Full HD (1920x1080). The partitioned mode of the image and two independent exits allow the device to bring at the same time two digital video signals to the Full HD panel and the large-format XGA panel with the permissions including 1920x1080 (an exit of LVDS) and 1366x768 (an exit of LVTTL).

The built-in opportunities of improvement of image quality, include the scheme of gamma correction taking into account area of a frame and allow to increase contrast.

TC90195XBG

On April 15, 2016 the Toshiba Electronics Europe company provided the two-channel TC90195XBG video processor for automobile displays of high resolution, it ensures functioning of the systems of navigation, to multimedia and the help[1] to the driver[1].

TC90195XBG (2016) processor

The video processor supports panels with the resolution of 1920x720 with a frequency of 60 frames per second (fps) and 1920x1080 with a frequency of 30 frames per second. TC90195XBG has the built-in scheme of image enhancement for images of low resolution at their display on panels of high resolution. The processor allows an output of two digital video signals at the same time, ensuring functioning of a panel of WXGA+ and the WVGA panel.

TC90195XBG has the internal memory of the personnel and the module of formation of lines that does it optimal for use in the systems of rear-view cameras, the multimedia systems for passengers on back seats and the information and entertaining systems of cars.

The processor supports the modes of consolidation and separation of the image with an internal memory of the personnel. Inputs of the processor are expected signal pick-up of LVDS/low-voltage differential signaling (OpenLDI) and LVTTL/low-voltage transistor-transistor logic. On the basis of these signals the uniform image which is output to a panel with permission of WXGA+ forms. In an alternate mode separation of these signals and an independent output to two panels with the resolution of 1280x720 (an exit of LVDS) and 800x480 is possible (an exit of LVTTL).

The beginning of serial production of TC90195XBG is planned for June, 2016, the press service of Toshiba Electronics Europe reported.

TC9560XBG

On January 13, 2016 the Toshiba Electronics Europe company announced release of the IC - solutions for the automobile Ethernet AVB systems. The IC is focused on ensuring reliable service of multimedia data for information and entertaining and telematic devices.

IC TC9560XBG (2015)

The IC TC9560XBG supports the IEEE 802.1AS and IEEE 802.1Qav standards which are referred to as Ethernet-AVB. The Ethernet-AVB standard provides stable and reliable service of multimedia data that allows to use it when developing the information and entertaining (IVI) and telematic systems.

The device is developed according to requirements of ISO/TS 16949 and quality control system for automobile APQP devices (expanded planning of quality control of products) and also undergoes certification of AEC-Q100. TC9560XBG is issued in the LFBGA body of 10 mm x 10 mm in size.

At connection to the applied processor or other single-crystal head device (SoC) TC9560XBG allows this device to transfer audio, video and other data on an Ethernet network 10/100/1000 in the car. For connection to the head device the interface PCI Express (PCIe), HSIC or the interface time-division of channels (TDM)/I2S for transfer of audiodata is used. The RGMII/RMII/MII[2] interface of set of chips is connected to the Ethernet switch or the device of the physical layer (PHY); at the same time transfer both in the AVB mode, and in former formats is supported. For system management the ARM Cortex-M3 processor placed on a crystal is used.

In addition to the functions of Ethernet Bridge implemented using TC9560XBG, the IC TC9560AXBG provides to producers of the automobile systems access to functionality of the CAN-FD protocol.
