Mivar: Murom-ISP

In February, 2016 Mivar company (Moscow) and "Intellectual technologies" (Nalchik) created the multi-purpose robotic Murom-ISP platform. The platform is intended for carrying out researches in the field of intellectual robotics and also creation of new samples of service commercial robots.


Specialists of Mivar and Intellectual Technologies companies developed the domestic platform which opens opportunities for mass production of commercial robots in Russia. Based on the platform the intelligent system of control of robots of own development will be approved, the possibility of their work in group is checked and application perspectives in the different industries are estimated. The robots created on the basis of this platform can be used in retail, construction, agriculture, in private households, advertizing, protection of law and order, medicine, hotel business, at emergency liquidation, etc. At the moment the Murom-ISP platform has no analogs neither in Russia, nor beyond its limits.


Murom-ISP is a hybrid of the android and the wheel robot: the developing anthropomorphous body with the touch head is installed on the self-balanced monoaxial two-wheeled chassis. In the spread-out status height of the robot of 165 cm, in put – 80 cm. The folding trunk allowed to broaden significantly the work area of the machine, provided an opportunity to pass under obstacles in the put status. Now the robot can perform manipulations, both at the Earth's surface, and at the level of the head. The platform can be equipped with different types of operating parts (from manipulators to specialized tools). Settlement loading capacity of an anthropomorphous trunk – up to 13.5 kg (including the weight of operating parts).


The two-wheeled chassis provides to the platform high maneuverability, allows to move with a speed up to 15 km/h and to carry up to 100 kg of payload. The robots created based on Murom-ISP can be used both in premises, and on the street. Operating time in a standalone mode at the average level of loading - till 8 o'clock.


The platform is equipped a broad set of sensors and effectors: range finders, inertial sensors, the systems of global positioning, lighting technology, the audio system with microphones and loudspeakers and other. In an anthropomorphous trunk the touch display for improvement of interactivity of interaction of the person with machine is built in. It is equipped with the powerful airborne computer supporting the simultaneous and interconnected work to five computing modules. Further for management of the platform it is supposed to use the system of autonomous artificial intelligence developed by Mivar company.

In our opinion, the created Murom-ISP platform is a break in domestic robotics. The universality, functionality and practicality of the platform opens opportunities for mass production. Potentially the application range Muromov is very wide. In particular, the platform can become indivisible element of the "smart city" system, acting at the same time in several forms: guide, consultant, courier, promoter, inspector of protection of law and order, repairman and even robot janitor. We hope that emergence of mass-produced models will push all domestic robotics and will positively affect image of the country.

We acted at the same time as the customer and the collaborator of the project. In spite of the fact that the Mivar company specializes in creation of intellectual software products, our employees were directly involved in development of the platform because are sure of its business potential. It can become a basis for creation of serial commercial robots of different function. Thanks to the system of autonomous artificial intelligence developed by us these machines will have an opportunity to communicate with the person in a natural language, to work in constantly changing and badly predictable habitat, and for accomplishment of difficult tasks - to interact with other robots.
