ELAR created the PDF files of filings for 1920-1942 of the Gudok newspaper

At the end of 2015 ELAR Corporation scanned numbers and created the PDF files of filings for 1920-1942 of the main newspaper of railroad workers. The electronic resource significantly accelerated work on search of the necessary information in help and bibliographic department of Gudok Publishing house.

"Materials of the newspaper are very demanded by researchers, - the manager of help and bibliographic department Olga Kushkina tells. – As you know, Beep in the 20-40th years of the last century was not just press organ of the Soviet workers of the railroad, but also the edition which integrated the most talented authors who became classics of domestic literature and journalism. In the newspaper Mikhail Bulgakov, Valentin Katayev, Yury Olesha, Ilya Ilf and Evgeny Petrov worked, in particular,".

Transfer to a digital format of bound files of newspapers which in four years will be hundred years old allowed to save, on the one hand, a unique array, and with another, gave the chance to all who address to help and bibliographic department of publishing house, to find information on events and a personnel quicker. Within the project specialists of ELAR page-by-page scanned on planetary scanners of issue of the newspaper, processed electronic images and created for each release the PDF file with automatically recognizable substrate.

"Newspaper files "Gudok" were digitized on the Planskan ELAR scanners of series "C", - the deputy manager of the direction on work with the commercial organizations of ELAR corporation Greenberg Sergej comments. – This equipment proved as the most optimal for creation of electronic collections of books, newspapers, archivings – documents of a different status and age, with any features of paper and text".
