MTS unrolled an intelligent network

On February 24, 2016 PJSC MTS and Cisco company announced implementation of the first stage of the project on deployment in network of the operator of the solution Cisco SON.

Project Progress

The hardware and software system Cisco SON automatically analyzes loading of network elements and online executes adjustment of parameters of network and dynamic adaptation of its capacity depending on change of a profile of traffic of subscribers.

The technology is implemented by MTS in 3G network in Moscow and the Moscow region.

In 2016 MTS is going to develop in the Moscow region of Cisco SON in LTE network and further to start optimization of heterogeneous network, including small cells (small cells).

Project Results

MTS is the first telecom operator in Russia which began to use and completely deployed the solution SON intended for carrying out dynamic optimization of network. This system considerably improves network functioning and directly influences perception of communication quality by our subscribers. Use of the solution Cisco SON shows in the conditions of high loads growth of data transfer rate on average by 20%, availability of network for 25% and reduction of number of breaks of connections approximately for 10%. It gives MTS of an opportunity not only to improve quality of the provided services, but also to reduce costs at construction of network due to optimization of work of base stations relatively each other.
