TMPV7602XBG is the processor device of fourth generation. It is focused on designers for creating applications in the modern systems of the help (ADAS) to the driver of "the initial level" taking into account requirements to the cameras Euro NCAP 2018.

On February 25, 2016 the Toshiba Electronics Europe company announced expansion of the range of processors release of TMPV7602XBG.

TMPV7602XBG (2016) processor

The TMPV7602XBG processor has 13 hardware accelerators of image understanding is equipped with functionality of ADAS, they will become a part of the test program of Euro NCAP in 2018. Functions concern them:

  • autonomous emergency brake application (Autonomous Emergency Braking, AEB),
  • recognition of road signs (Traffic Signal Recognition, TSR),
  • warning of a congress from a band (Lane Departure Warning)
  • the help in deduction on a band (Lane Keeping Assist),
  • help in management of a driving beam (High Beam Assistance, HBA)
  • warning of head-on collision (Forward Collision Warning, FCW).

The device maintains a number of additional functionality, like recognition of signals of traffic lights (Traffic Light Recognition, TLR) and detection of pedestrians at night.

The ADAS applications are run in the multitask mode with typical value of a temporary window of 50 ms in the processor for image understanding and with rather low power consumption thanks to use of specialized hardware accelerators and modules of processing of multimedia data (MPU). TMPV7602XBG allows to execute at the same time up to 5 applications, consuming less energy, than the devices intended for the ADAS systems from an average to the top class.

In the TMPV7602XBG processor the advanced accelerators with CoHOG technology providing higher accuracy of image understanding are used. The analysis of a gradient of the colors on images rendered by the connected cameras with permission of Full HD (2 megapixels) also increases the probability of detection of pedestrians at night.

The processor is placed in the BGA body with 521 hemispherical outputs the sizes of 17 mm x 17 mm with a step of outputs of 0.65 mm. Delivery of the fact-finding samples TMPV7602XBG will begin in March, 2016.
