2016: Software development to the Olympic Games
On March 31, 2016 the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced creation of the special software for storage of medical data. This software will help to reveal injuries at athletes and to be recovered after damages, TASS with reference to the press service of the organization reports.
The program in which development the GE Healthcare Worldwide company was engaged, it is going to release to the Olympic Games of 2016 in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, on August 5-21). A system will be used on all medical posts and also in the central clinic in the Olympic village.
According to an idea of authors of the project, using the software solution it will be possible to increase the accuracy of diagnosing of damages at athletes, to facilitate recovery after injuries and also to make programs for prevention of damages.
The new software will become a cornerstone in our medical services — the director of medical and scientific department of the International Olympic Committee Richard Baggett says. — It will allow not only to provide providing excellent medical services during the Olympic Games-2016, but also to promote in the field of prevention of injuries and diseases in the future. |
It is noted that such development was already successfully experienced by the American athletes during the Olympic Games of 2012 in London.[1]
