Bashnipineft used technology of laser scanning in design

On April 13, 2016 Aveva announced use of Aveva Everything3D and Aveva Laser Modeller ^[1] from projects of modernization and reconstruction of Bashnipineft LLC].

Project Tasks

For effective work the design institute needed to master the technology characteristic simplicity of implementation and application that in the shortest possible time it is full to process data to the existing, constructed objects and taking into account these data to make additional design of new. It was required to provide access for designers to exact and up-to-date data on the existing objects for correct assessment of the made engineering decisions.

Project Results

It was the first work experience with data of laser scanning and their processing in the AVEVA system. The selected technology confirmed the efficiency. We saw the large-scale integration level of data of laser scanning with a 3D model. The applied solutions Aveva allowed to construct exact detail drawings according to all requirements and regulations. Use of Aveva technologies for data processing of laser scanning and the subsequent their integration helps to solve tasks which the institute sets for itself within general strategy of the innovative development with a 3D model. Possibilities of technology of laser scanning for maintenance of an object throughout its lifecycle have practically no borders therefore these projects are without exaggeration a new stage in development of Bashnipineft LLC. The design institute of Bashneft executed collection of data on objects which required technical re-equipment and upgrade, method of laser scanning, and loaded these data into the Aveva Laser Modeller system for semi-automatic creation of a 3D model. The received objects were imported to the AVEVA E3D application for accomplishment of necessary project works. Designers could place new elements and execute checks on a collision between the existing infrastructure of objects and new elements in the three-dimensional environment. Data of laser scanning considerably reduce amount of discrepancies and errors as designers in fact work at the virtual building site. Examination of the Russian team of Aveva provided to specialists of Bashnipineft fast mastering and successful practical use of solutions in these projects. We can be proud of those results which the institute received already on the first projects with use of Aveva technologies.
