Video surveillance in public transport of Saransk: pilot project

The Enforta company implemented a pilot project on the organization of remote video surveillance in public transport in the capital of the Republic of Mordovia – Saransk. The passenger transport enterprise "Gorelektrotrans" acted as the project orderer. Within the test period remote video surveillance is performed in the bus going on route No. 1 in the city of Saransk.

The main objective of the organization of video surveillance on public transport – security of the driver and passengers during the movement. In addition, remote video control allows to raise legal protection of passengers and personnel, to counteract terrorist threats, to stop damage of property, to consider a passenger traffic for optimization of transport routes, to solve disputable situations in case of accidents or conflict situations and also to integrate public transport into target programs of security.

The solution developed by Enforta company is constructed based on wireless technology 4G. The set of the equipment consists of four anti-vandal video cameras: three cameras are placed in inside of the bus, and the fourth camera is mounted in a cabin of the driver and works in the video recorder mode.

Thus, the implemented system of remote video surveillance in public transport allows to solve a set of problems of security of passengers, and to the management of transport enterprise considerably facilitates process of control of work of employees.
