The Prosveshcheniye publishing house passed from 1C to Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012

In April, 2016 the Prosveshcheniye publishing house started project implementation of implementation of an end-to-end system of business management on the basis of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 and IBM Cognos TM1. The consulting company Columbus acts as the partner in the project and the developer of an information system.

Project objective is large-scale reorganization of IT systems of publishing house, transition from solutions 1C to Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 and creation of a common information space for employees. In 2016 such processes as purchase management, budgeting, budget control and treasury are optimized; processes of management of projects, productions and inventory managements are automated. All main business processes of publishing house are transferred to an ERP system.

At the first stage of the project in 2015 Education and Columbus automated the main distribution warehouse of the company from where over seven thousand product names of publishing house go to educational institutions and bookstores. After implementation of the WMS system on the basis of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 platform in the summer of 2015 the decision on implementation of the platform in other functional areas of publishing house was made.

Problems of optimization of methodology of budgeting and optimization of the connected processes also entered a project circuit. After the analysis of planning processes, budgeting and the reporting, the decision to automate all above-mentioned processes using the specialized solution of IBM Cognos TM1 was made.

In a project deliverable managerial and business processes are provided with the up-to-date and reliable information available in real time. Economy of the budget of the company due to increase in speed of work of a program and technology complex of publishing house and, as a result, decrease in time expenditure on accomplishment of routine transactions by employees is counted. Also overhead reduction, connected with management of IT infrastructure is planned.
