2016: Creation of a cloud for the German radiological network
On April 18, 2016 announced Siemens Healthcare software development in the field of electronic health care for the German radiological network (German Radiology Network) which is managed by Curagita Holding company.
Joint efforts of Siemens and Curagita Holding intend to create and implement new medical software solutions for 100 medical institutions which the German radiological network covers. The first pilot project will be tested in the centers of radiology and nuclear medicine in Hamburg and Munich, since the middle of 2016.
Siemens will offer complex cloud IT solution which will allow to organize quick access to different medical information, such as results of clinical trials, polls of doctors, etc. It is supposed that not only doctors, but also patients can use these data.
The main objectives which are set by Siemens and Curagita within the joint project are the greatest possible failure from paper documents for benefit of electronic and also the organization of close work of specialists from different areas (urology, radiology, X-ray therapy, etc.) which thanks to it will be able to exchange experience and to jointly create effective methods of treatment.
Its security will become important feature of the program: doctors and patients will have a password-protected access to data, at the same time patients will be able to save anonymity if desired.
Siemens and Curagita intend to test a broad spectrum of telemedicine applications. The first of them concerns the RaDiagnostiX program allowing to diagnose a prostate cancer.
By the end of 2016 the preliminary results of joint work of the companies will be summed up. In case of success IT solution of Siemens will be implemented on all German radiological network and also in other medical institutions of the country.
After a successful pilot stage we intend to become pioneers in establishing communications with our clinical partners with the assistance of Siemens and also implementation of our common goal on quality improvement of treatment of patients at the digital level — the chairman of the board of Curagita Johannes Schmidt-Tophoff said.[1] |
