Domain infrastructure is consolidated in JSC Progress, mail is transferred to Exchange

The LanKey system integrator executed consolidation of domain infrastructure and migration of corporate mail of JSC PROGRESS (brands "Frutonyanya", "Kids", "Lipetsk Pump Room").

JSC PROGRESS is the Russian production company, the leader in production of baby food. The history of the company began 1987 more and approaches 30-year anniversary of professional activity. For years of work and active development the company grew, significantly expanded production and took the leading positions in the market. JSC PROGRESS produces Frutonyanya and Kids baby food and also the Lipetsk Pump Room mineral water. The hi-tech plant JSC PROGRESS is located in the Lipetsk region and annually releases more than 1,000,000,000 units of production.

Main objectives of the project were centralization of corporate information services for cost reduction of management and cost optimization on licensing of the software and also increase in fault tolerance and safety of information services. Within the project it was required to consolidate the Active Directory directory service based on DPC to Lipetsk and also to construct the geodistributed e-mail cluster based on Microsoft Exchange Server 2013. One of the main project requirements was ensuring continuity of all business processes, as at performing procedures of cross-domain migration of users and mailboxes, and when updating software products to new versions.

Before the project engineers of LanKey audited the existing IT infrastructure and developed the plan of migration. Within 3 months works on migration of all domains of the company in a root domain were performed, migration more than 1000 users and computers from all regional divisions was made. Between the Moscow and Lipetsk DPC the geodistributed DAG cluster of Exchange Server 2013 using network balancers of Citrix NetScaler was constructed. All e-mail was migrated from the Exchange 2010 servers on a new cluster.

After completion of works on migration JSC PROGRESS received the unified consolidated domain environment, considerably having reduced administrative costs by service of IT infrastructure and also licensing cost of software products. Due to transfer of corporate mail it was succeeded to increase the level of availability of service of e-mail by the new geodistributed cluster of Microsoft Exchange 2013 several times.
