Oberon constructed DPC for Federal State Budgetary Institution RGB within the program of creation of "A national digital library"

Libraries play an important role in harmonious development of society. Distribution of the Internet and development of modern information and computer technologies, on the one hand, expand possibilities of libraries, regiments with books "move" closer to the reader, on the other hand, impose new requirements – need of high-quality digitization of funds, development of services of access and ensuring safety of information. Without the modern equipment these conditions cannot be executed.

At the initiative of the Russian state library and with assistance of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, in 2004 the project of creation of the National Digital Library (NDL) was developed.

The NEB project integrates funds of public libraries of Russia of federal, regional, municipal level, libraries of scientific and educational institutions. Today the online project directory includes 1,620,429 books to which free access is provided for any citizen of the Russian Federation.

In 2015 the equipment and storage systems separately were located across the territory of a complex of the Russian state library. Scales of the NEB project required creation of additional infrastructure of premises for placement of the equipment of the information systems existing and planned to implementation in uniform computer center of Federal State Budgetary Institution RGB.

Ensuring continued operation and physical security of computing systems and also reliable high-speed transmission medium of data was the main requirements to construction of a uniform data processing center. In an open competition won the project provided by Oberon system integrator.

The complex project of the state value, conferred the accessorial liability on specialists of the company. The DPC should be operated in the round-the-clock mode, all engineering systems should be expected work 24/7/365.

The selected premises under construction of DPC are located directly over a lobby of the station of the subway "Library of Lenin", and before were used as the air-ventilation chamber. Dismantling of the existing pipelines, gain of the base, carrying out of communications, elimination of errors, a waterproofing – preparation of the premises, went in parallel with creation of external networks. The whole complex of systems is a part of engineering infrastructure: power supply - reduces risks of data loss and idle time of DPC; conditioning - is supported by the required climatic mode, ensuring smooth operation; smoke removal and gas fire extinguishing – automatically localizes and eliminates the center and effects of ignition; access control and security television – limits uncontrollable access for strangers to data and engineering infrastructure; operational supervisory control – provides continuous control of work and decrease in a response time of personnel in case of an emergency situation; the structured cabling system – will organize the uniform, reliable, effective and protected data transmission medium.

For minimization of number of losses at shutdown of services, preliminary start, trial operation and acceptance tests of DPC took place in full accordance with the plan on New Year's holidays. By specialists of Federal State Budgetary Institution Russian State Library the high level of professionalism of the Oberon command when implementing the project was mentioned.
