Linxdatacenter created the geodistributed IT infrastructure for Western Union

The Linxdatacenter company, solution provider in the field of the data processing centers (DPC) and cloud infrastructure, provided at the beginning of 2016 ^[1] of service colocation in two cities ^[2] and communication services.

Creation of a geodistributed infrastructure on two different platforms was one of the main requirements of Western Union within the project, first of which there is in Moscow, and the second in St. Petersburg. Such scheme increases disaster tolerance of information systems and allows to save operability of the company even in case of breakdown of one of platforms. Thanks to existence of two data processing centers which are strategically located in Moscow and St. Petersburg and conforming to the Tier 3, Linxdatacenter standards satisfied requirements of Western Union. Linxdatacenter renders for Western Union a range of services which include service of her network and providing data transmission channels between two DPCs guaranteeing necessary fault tolerance of platforms.

Except fault tolerance, providing the high level of physical security of the equipment became an important condition also. Security of DPC of Linxdatacenter is supported by white papers: at the end of last year the data processing center underwent audit on compliance to the PCI DSS standard in St. Petersburg that says that in DPC the security level necessary for information processing on payment cards and financial transactions is provided.
