2017: There was a release of Matrikon Flex OPC Unified Architecture (OPC UA)

On May 17, 2017 the Honeywell corporation announced release of Matrikon Flex Software Development Toolkit - scalable set of development tools of software (SDK) for simplification of interaction of program systems of industrial function.

Its use will allow to exchange data with each other is platform-independent, the operating system or the sizes. A set of development tools of software of Matrikon Flex OPC Unified Architecture (OPC UA) — the optimal solution in situations when computing resources and memory of computers are limited[1].

The Matrikon Flex technology is focused on producers of batch production and the enterprises of processing industry, commercial customers and suppliers of the original equipment (OEM) for industrial automation. It is the developer kit allowing to adjust quickly support of OPC UA for the solution of any tasks irrespective of their scale.

SDK Matrikon Flex represents single client-server solution for the industrial organizations with different requirements to data exchange. Matrikon Flex is implemented on the basis of the basic principles that does this packet of the developer more compact and suitable both for solving of tasks in the conditions of limitation of resources, and for creation of large scalable architecture. This SDK has low memory requirements that allows to save sufficient computing resources for the correct operation of devices.

Tools which allow to reduce costs of time and forces for development and to create reliable and safe products are necessary for suppliers for rapid implementation of OPC UA. The new SDK provided to Honeywell optimum is suitable for the companies beginning work with OPC UA and persons interested to take advantage of technologies of industrial Internet of Things. This solution helps to accelerate product development on the basis of the OPC UA standard with the minimum changes in infrastructure.

As declared in Honeywell, the ready client-server architecture of Matrikon Flex provides a fast implementation method of the optimized products with support of OPC UA, at the same time developers do not need to have expert knowledge in the field of OPC UA.

In Matrikon Flex the stable architecture for the maximum increase in time of useful work of final solutions is used. Such approach helps to implement support of OPC UA in solutions with the minimum computing resources. The set provides memory management on the basis of the general pool of resources and works practically at any system — from the built-in platforms with limited resources to powerful applications on the basis of the PC, noted in the company.

2016: Matrikon OPC Unified Architecture (OPC UA)

The division "Industrial automation" announced Honeywell companies in the spring of 2016 release of a scalable packet of development (SDK) of Matrikon OPC Unified Architecture (OPC UA) which will allow users to connect among themselves industrial program systems is platform-independent, the operating system or the size.

Wide circulation of industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and the concept the Industry 4.0 continues to stimulate demand for technologies of open and safe communication (the intercomputer interaction or M2M) between devices and also between peripheral and cloud solutions. OPC UA — is recognized as the key standard of data exchange therefore in a new segment of IIoT and the Industry it is necessary for 4.0 suppliers for the successful competition that their new and existing products supported OPC UA.

"In addition to lower costs of development, the fact that he demands the smallest amount of memory in comparison with analogs and works most effectively belongs to advantages of a packet of Matrikon OPC UA SDK, leaving enough resources of the processor for the correct functioning of devices — Elgonda La Grange, the area director of the Advanced Solutions software products, division "Industrial automation" of Honeywell says. — Using Matrikon OPC UA SDK suppliers of the automation equipment will be able to implement effective connection of the product lines to industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). Unlike other work benches of OPC UA the packet of Matrikon OPC UA is capable to work equally well both in the small built-in devices, and in large applications based on the PC. Such scalability does it by the universal solution for the companies wishing to extend support of OPC UA to several product lines — from separate network sensors and actuators to programmable controllers and other systems.

Thanks to implementation of the concept of "the ready server" the packet of Matrikon OPC UA SDK provides to suppliers the fast and convenient method of creation of the optimized highly reliable products with support of OPC UA which is not demanding from developers of expert knowledge in the field of OPC UA and allowing suppliers more surely and quicker to bring to the market products with support of OPC UA.

OPC Unified Architecture extends the highly successful OPC communication protocol, enabling data acquisition and information modeling and communication between the plant floor and the enterprise reliably and securely.
