2018: Creation of the center of examination in the field of integration solutions for retail

MTS company, the Russian telecommunication operator and provider of digital services, and SAP company announced on May 24, 2018 creation of the center of examination in the field of integration solutions for the retail designed to increase efficiency of business processes and to reveal growth zones for increase in profitability of group of MTS and its corporate clients.

The first stage

Within the first stage of cooperation of MTS and SAP the delivery contract of the complex software for federal network of salons of AO RTK is signed. It is expected that it will allow the retail network MTS including 5700 outlets across all Russia to increase quality of business process management at all levels.

Among the purchased tools: the SAP solution for Retail for automation of retail business, SAP Process Mining by Celonis for the analysis of business processes of the company and also the platform of storage and data processing of SAP HANA for business in real time.

The second stage

At the second stage MTS is going to add acquired together with SAP competences a portfolio of digital solutions for corporate clients and to offer trade organizations a full range of services in system integration. The company develops and implements IT solutions for the organization of trade, including based on the analysis of Big Data and own IoT-ecosystem.

To shop from MTS as from the uniform supplier of digital services, in particular, Digital Signage technologies, intellectual video surveillance, integration with the state control systems for turnover of Unified State Automated Information System alcohol and turnover of Mercury dairy products are available, virtual data centers #CloudМТС both other IT solutions and services.

The expected effect

Joint about the SAP center of examination will allow MTS to increase efficiency of own retail. Thanks to competences of child system integrator "Nvision Group" each client will receive individual IT solution — the president of group of MTS Alexey Kornya noted. — MTS supports an overwhelming part of the software tools necessary for conducting own business. For example, we began to define places and a format of new retail salons by Big Data, and then provided services in cloud processing of Big Data based on own centers of processing and data storage to retail. At the end of 2017 the aggregate effect from Big Data exceeded 1.5 billion rubles.

2012: Creation of a uniform ERP system based on SAP solutions, Oracle and 1C

In September, 2012 in retail network MTS one of the most large-scale ERP of implementations in the Russian retail is complete what it is said in the official statement of integrator of the Sitronics IT project about.

The project is interesting not only the scale (in retail network MTS about 4 thousand salons from which 1.6 thousand work on franchizing), but also the fact that in its framework the system relying at once on two competing ERP platforms – SAP and Oracle is created.

The CEO of the analytical agency Telecom Daily Denis Kuskov told the correspondent of TAdviser that, depending on technical filling of the project, its cost can be 70-120 million rubles.

Three platforms = 1 ERP

Why the decision to create the ERP system on "two whales" was made, the project manager from retail network MTS Alexander Rogozin explained. "Usually at implementation of ERP systems of the company adhere to the strategy of the choice of software from one vendor. We went on other way: used the best solutions of the leading vendors", - he noted. According to him, as a result the company received effective, high-performance solution based on the advanced modern systems.

Let's remind also that within the St. Petersburg Economic Forum of 2012 of MTS, the long-term user of the ERP system and other solutions on the Oracle platform, signed the two-year contract with SAP CIS for delivery of ERP solutions. The president of MTS Andrey Dubovskov then noted that SAP will be used by MTS for optimization of purchases. Only in 2012 for the realization account of these processes the group will manage to save 25 million euros.

In Sitronics IT TAdviser said that quantity of jobs in the "retail" project and also the cost of licenses and implementation services does not reveal. However the scale of the project is characterized, for example, by the fact that more than 100 specialists of integrator and more than 50 – were involved in it from retail network MTS.

One more moment: according to TAdviser, earlier "The Russian telephone company" (the old name of "Retail network MTS") used the ERP system on platform 1C what representatives of the company declared. "New ERP partially replaced functionality of 1C, but a number of a 1C-applications are still in full used in retail of MTS", - told TAdviser in Sitronics IT.

Project Progress

In total implementation of new ERP lasted 9 months and came to the end by September, 2012. in a system procurement processes of goods, sale of goods, inventory accounting, distribution of goods, maintaining reference books of goods and sales offices and other business processes of the company are implemented. Implementation of the specified tasks meant use of the industrial systems meeting the international standards and allowing to minimize dependence on unique developments.

The architecture of the ERP system designed Sitronics IT integrated several different business applications of Oracle (Oracle Hyperion Planning, Oracle MDM, Oracle DWH, Oracle ESB, Oracle BI, Oracle Hyperoin Essbase) and a complex of industry solutions SAP for Retail (SAP IS-R; DM SAP POS; SAP MAP). As the platform for automation of commodity accounting the SAP AG system – SAP Retail was selected. as the system of maintaining the master of data - the solution Master Data Management from a line of Oracle applications of E-Business Suite.

For implementation of the integration platform the set of applications of Oracle ESB, for a corporate information warehouse - Oracle DBMS was taken. Created by KSU met the requirements of the customer to fast adaptation of profile specialists to changes in business processes, providing minimum risks of intersystem integration and also high performance.

Development of a system

Until the end of 2012 the retail network MTS is going to implement solutions in the field of financial and personnel records based on Oracle EBS and also pricing and calculation of requirements of outlets - based on SAP F&R and SAP Price Optimization.
