Bozshakol is a large-scale open-pit copper mine in Pavlodar region of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which began production in February 2016. The increase in production volumes at the mine to its design capacity was completed in the second half of 2017.
The Bozshakol mine and ore processing plants located directly at the production site are located in the north of Kazakhstan. The annual ore processing capacity at Bozshakol is 30 million tons, while the life of this mine is about 40 years with an average copper content of 0.36% in ore. At the main sulphide ore processing plant, production activity began in the first quarter of 2016, and on October 27, 2016, its design level was announced. At a separate factory for the processing of kaolinized ore, the estimated capacity of which is 5 million tons, commissioning began in the fourth quarter of 2016, and the shipment of the first commodity concentrate was carried out in the first quarter of 2017, while the level of project production was reached on July 1, 2017.
