2017: The plug-in of Virtuozzo Storage is certified by Docker

On June 29, 2017 Virtuozzo announced that the special plug-in for permanent data storage was accepted by the certified Docker program created especially for that partners could integrate, certify the technologies for the commercial Docker Enterprise Edition platform. New to software it is already available to loading in Docker Store. Virtuozzo for the first time provided the plug-in of storage system for Docker in 2016, having provided support of Docker Developer Edition, and now the permanent storage is available to all existing Docker environments.

Thanks to just certified Virtuozzo plug-in, users of Docker can create the ready hyper convergent solutions for industrial tasks including the permanent data warehouse together with a management system for the containers Docker. The plug-in allows users easily and to quickly integrate the software-defined data warehouse of Virtuozzo and computing resources of Docker. A system does not require existence of the specialized equipment for data storage, instead users receive a flexible and high-performance solution which can easily grow together with development of infrastructure, the needs for capacity and requests of users, automatically guaranteeing that the data warehouse will never be "bottleneck" of the platform of management of containers.

The ephemeral nature of containers and the data which are contained in them creates difficulties for the applications creating permanent data, for example, of databases and magazines of work. Such applications should have an opportunity to store information by the most effective and flexible method. In addition to certification of compatibility with Docker and ease of use, the new plug-in of Virtuozzo Storage allows users of Docker to overcome these problems, using the checked, safe and high-performance software-defined solution for data storage.

Among key features:

• The combined use of resources for data storage and computing tasks allows to use the general equipment for these tasks – Virtuozzo Storage differs in extremely modest requirements to computing power and does not require / does not depend on existence of special or highly available equipment. Instead a system works at normal HDD and SSD disks. In June, 2016 Virtuozzo announced release of Virtuozzo Storage for Docker. Virtuozzo Storage for Docker provides infrastructure for storages of permanent data in productive Docker-environments and creates the mechanism for storage of constants (stateful) of these applications which are unrolled based on Docker, including a multi-server configuration.
