Nokia Smart Home

Smart Home Nokia is the solution of the class smart home. It is focused on operators of services.

On June 21, 2016 the Nokia company presented the solution of the class Smart Home (smart home) which will help operators to accelerate provision of services to the subscribers in the residential sector aiming to use advantages of Internet of Things. The solution supports a broad spectrum of the sensors, switches and other attached devices necessary for "smart" accounting and security and automation of the dwelling. The easy-to-work solution is completely integrated and does not require special knowledge for installation.

For simplification and simplification of deployment in the solution Smart Home Nokia three principal components are implemented:

• the first represents the single unit performing functions of the optical modem (Optical Network Terminal, ONT) and also the gateway for the residential sector and the smart home.
• the second – mobile application for OS IOS and Android, for control of the dwelling.
• the third – the end-to-end IoT-platform of management controlling an ecosystem of smart homes with ready options of application and management for all "smart" home devices.

The gateway will be available to operators at the end of 2016. This completely integrated, simple solution for others in installation third-party (over the top, OTT) technologies will give to operators the chance to receive a share of the growing market of smart homes.

The gateway was a part of an IoT-portfolio of Nokia which for the last half a year was replenished with different network infrastructure solutions, including also IoT-services, specialized vertical solutions, IoT-devices, IoT-Community and also recently provided gateway and the platform of Internet of Things.

In the conditions of fast development of Internet of Things and the growing number of home intelligent devices the equipment which is easy for setting and which is simple for managing is necessary for subscribers. In this very fragmented market network operators got unique chance to be selected among other OTT players, positioning themselves as perspective providers for smart homes. Smart Home Nokia gives to operators the chance to outstrip an IoT-trend and to propose to customers the simple solution completely compatible to dominant technologies and standards of Wi-fi for control of "smart" devices and applications.   • optical modem,
  • the home gateway with dual-band parallel connection by Wi-fi and the antenna providing the best covering in house conditions
