TEMS Investigation InfoVista (before Ascom TEMS Investigation) is a hardware-software complex for control of work of the radio interface.

2016: Ascom TEMS Investigation 18.0

Ascom TEMS Investigation is the solution for control of work of radio networks delivered by company 2test in Russia since summer of 2016 it is equipped with the specialized DriveTester interface.

The version of Ascom TEMS Investigation 18.0 underwent completions and helps mobile operators, service providers and owners of infrastructure quicker and more simply to take necessary measurements and to receive objective results for optimization of a wireless network and cutting of costs for operation.

Using the DriveTester interface now it is possible to test quality of perception of services by users (quality of experience – QoE) without the need for their involvement and training. And thanks to the Ascom FleetManager web interface – far off to plan, to support and control projects on the drive testing in real time and in any place.

All you need is – the browser

Drive tester the server can be started on the self-contained unit without keyboard and a mouse now, it can be the structure of Intel of NUC or the mini-PC, in this case control of testing will be exercised from the browser of the tablet connected through Wi-Fi to the self-contained unit. The new interface automatically adapts to the size of any screen for the greatest efficiency and convenience of work of the user. The possibility of remote access from any device, from the classical notebook to the tablet and the smartphone, considerably reduces time spent for setup of the equipment and gives freedom for remote monitoring of process of measurements. Everything that is necessary - it is the browser.

DriveTester updates "by air"

The wireless software update of DriveTester is available both in mobile, and in stationary versions now. Why it is necessary? It is important that the application always remained relevant. It allows to receive new features and to provide the accuracy of measurements. The wireless method simplifies process of updating and saves time. In the presence of updates it will be offered to you to set them simple mouse click.

Advanced system of the overview

In Ascom TEMS Investigation of version 18.0 more information on shared state and system performance is displayed. In addition to already available information on the device and the course of testing, the opportunity of restart or switching off of DriveTester Server is given now. The possibility of visual control and assessment of a status allows to avoid breaks in measurements because of any failures and also to quickly check correctness of operation of the equipment and parameters of testing. It is crucial for reduction of time spent by technicians when carrying out field measurements and also eliminates a possibility of collecting of wrong data.

Drawing up reports of KPI

Now using the DriveTester application it is possible to unload reports with key performance indicators (KPI) after conducting testing. The tool makes the report on key indicators of voice transmission and data. Basic feature of the report on KPI is comparison of operators in terms of each parameter.

Why it is necessary? The purpose of the report of KPI is ensuring direct feedback coupling on the basis of test yielded and results of the last tests, needlessly in postprocessing of log files. Reports help to estimate justification of data before transferring them for deeper post-processing. Detection of problems saves time and funds for carrying out a set on early stages the drive tests.

Ascom TEMS Investigation 18.0 allows to execute testing using the latest devices, including Samsung Galaxy S7, Note 5 and LG G4.

In addition TEMS Investigation supports the top LG G4 model now. Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930F/FD, SM-G935T) is a new smartphone from Samsung with support of LTE of category 9. The device is equipped with the six-nuclear processor of Samsung and supports technology of aggregation of carrier frequencies (CA) with a possibility of data transmission with a speed up to 450 Mbps. LG G4 (H810, H811, LS991, VS986) – the smartphone from LTE category 6 and 5.5-inch Quad HD the display. TEMS Investigation offers a broad spectrum of controlled parameters on this phone. Samsung Galaxy Note 5 (SM-N920T) also maintains LTE categories 9, Carrier Aggregation and VoLTE.

Support of LTE according to the 3GPP Release 12 specification

Ascom TEMS Investigation is updated according to the last recommendations of 3GPP Release 12. It means a possibility of testing more than 30 new information items of devices based on processors of Qualcomm with support of aggregation of carrier frequencies of Carrier Aggregation for optimization of search and fault recovery in networks with Carrier Aggregation.

Support of testing of the WhatsApp messenger

Now enhanced capabilities of testing of OTT (Over-the-Top) of services on social networks are available: text messaging and voice calls, including the popular WhatsApp messenger. It allows to bring closer results of measurements to real conditions as much as possible: test everything that is loved by users.

Testing of VoLTE (IR.92)

The devices supporting VoLTE (IR.92) receive the IMS configurations (IP Multimedia Subsystem) from network. But what if it is required to change additional parameters? The special application for the IMS setup simplifies the procedure of modification of the IMS settings, for example, for Sony Xperia Z5 and Z3 and also on the newest devices of Samsung.

Why it is necessary? Settings of IMS solutions at different operators usually differ. The possibility of the IMS setup of parameters of the device allows to achieve more exact and reliable results of testing and measurements.
