In the stock "Total Dictation" ABBYY FlexiCapture for data entry about participants and errors was used

The international campaign Total Dictation in 2016 used the system developed by Atapi Softver company on the basis of the solution ABBYY FlexiCapture for exact and quick entry of data on participants (a name, a surname or an alias and a code word) and quantity of the mistakes made by the participant.

Images of forms and also data taken from them were uploaded to the site totaldict.ru by means of which participants of the action had an opportunity to get acquainted not only with the assessment for a dictation, but also with marks of checking. As a result data of participants managed to be taken from forms and to upload to the site one and a half times faster and with tenfold decrease in quantity of errors and typos in comparison with manual entry. 5 times less volunteers were required for data entry on the website of "A total dictation" and for work with addresses of participants of the action. For the first time the solution was applied in Novosibirsk as a pilot project.

Every year Total Dictation attracts more and more people. In 2016 more than 5.5 thousand people took part only in Novosibirsk in an action. It is correct to transfer from forms and to upload to the site such information volume manually difficult, there are errors and typos, and, as a result, participants cannot get access to the estimates. In 2015, for example, arrived several hundred requests from participants of a dictation who for various reasons could not get access to the results on the action website.

To reduce quantity of errors at data entry from forms and to reduce labor input, specialists of ATAPI company which specializes in development and deployment of the software for automation of input of documents and data created a system on the basis of the solution ABBYY FlexiCapture. In comparison with manual entry it allows to enter quicker and more precisely documents and data into information systems. Now all forms are scanned, and data of participants will automatically be recognized and transferred to the database of an action. On the basis of data on quantity of introduced errors the mark for a dictation is put down to each participant.

Using this solution the page was succeeded to process 5,534 forms with a total amount of 12,241 in 3 days. The quantity of the mistakes made when entering results on the website was reduced with 700 in 2015 at the similar number of participants to 70 in 2016 (1.2% of the total number of forms). After implementing solution the database with results of participants of the action in Novosibirsk forms automatically. By estimates of organizers of "A total dictation", similar automation will allow to accelerate further processing of forms by 3-5 times.
