The St. Petersburg polytechnical institute installed the system of stereoscopic visualization

On June 27, 2016 the VE Group company announced implementation of a professional system of stereoscopic visualization with the resolution of 4K in the supercomputer center of Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University[1].

Project Progress

VE Group acted as the main consultant and the designer of a system of visualization of scientific data. The company managed to solve a problem of representation in 3D - a format of results of computational modeling, support of work of the distributed groups of specialists as means of a video conferencing.

In composition of CADWall glass screen of the return projection Barco SuperFlat Screen of 4500x2737 mm in size, stereoscopic video projector, subsystems of generation of the image and switching.

According to the statement of VE Group, the main feature of the project is the Russian Federation's first professional system of stereoscopic visualization with the resolution of 4K (4096x2160@60Hz). Such permission, according to integrator, is necessary for display in the stereomode of difficult representations of results of supercomputer calculations which, as a rule, represent the image with a large number of small elements, their interpretations. And the high-performance network of switching of a system of visualization allows to display images of any scale, as in a stereo - and a monoformat and in the mnogookonnost mode that is important for collective work.

It is not a simple standard system: the screen — a projector — the computer, and a complex and multifunction supermodern system of collective information display. It contains the screen with unique characteristics, a switching system of the last generation which works with ultrabroadband video signals. Creation of such supercomplex systems is VE Group examination.

Visual representation of results of scientific research or applied engineering and technology calculations is an effective method of a research and design. The range of areas in which scientific visualization is successfully applied at the Polytechnical university is extremely wide: from problems of computing mechanics of liquid and gas before processing of results of scanning of the area. Therefore creation of a multifunction system of visualization was provided in our project in 2013. I am sincerely grateful to all specialists of the companies VE Group and Barco for the help and professionalism.
