2016: Opening of the PET-center in Yekaterinburg

At the end of June, 2016 in Yekaterinburg the center of nuclear medicine for diagnosis of oncological diseases opened. For it the equipment of production GE Healthcare was purchased.

The Ekaterinburg center of a positron emission tomography was solemnly opened by the governor of Sverdlovsk region Evgeny Kuyvashev, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Sverdlovsk region Vladimir Vlasov, the Minister of Health of Sverdlovsk region Igor Trofimov and the vice chairman of the board of UK Rusnano LLC Herman Pikhoyem.

Within strategic partnership with Pat Technology LLC, the leading federal network of the PET-centers in Russia, GE Healthcare equipped the center with the equipment for carrying out a positron and issue computer tomography (PET/KT).

It is about the Discovery PET/CT 6103 scanner used for obtaining medical images. Short-lived isotopes for the PET-center in Yekaterinburg will be delivered from the production center Pat-Technology LLC in Ufa where GE PETtrace cyclotron providing synthesis of the radiopharmaceuticals which are most often applied in a positron emission tomography is set.

The innovation PET/KT of the solution GE Healthcare allow to diagnose oncological pathologies at the earliest stage and to timely appoint an optimal course of treatment. With opening of the new center in Yekaterinburg the positron emission tomography will become available to the population of the Urals. Capacity of the center in Yekaterinburg will reach 6000 researches a year, inspection will be able to be undergone both residents of Sverdlovsk region, and patients from the neighboring regions here.^[1]
