Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Novgorod Region

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Novgorod Region is formed by the Government of the Novgorod Region, is an executive body of the Novgorod region, performing state functions and exercising powers in the region in the spheres of social protection of the population and labor, in the field of promoting employment of the population, as well as the authority transferred to the Russian Federation and exercised by subventions from the federal budget to make social payments to citizens recognized as unemployed in the prescribed manner in the form of:

• unemployment benefits;
• scholarships during vocational training and additional vocational education in the direction of employment service bodies;
• financial assistance due to the expiration of the established period for the payment of unemployment benefits;
• material assistance during vocational training and obtaining additional vocational education in the direction of employment service bodies;
• a pension appointed at the suggestion of the employment service authorities for the period before the age of old insurance pension age, including those appointed ahead of schedule.

History

2018: Renamed the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Novgorod Region

By Decree of the Government of the Novgorod Region of December 21, 2017 No. 450 "On the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Novgorod Region," the Department of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Novgorod Region was renamed the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection^[1] from January 1, 2018].

As of July 2016, the Department of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Novgorod Region was the executive authority of the region, performing state functions and exercising powers in the region in the spheres of social protection of the population and labor, in the field of promoting employment, as well as the authority transferred to the Russian Federation and exercised by subventions from the federal budget to make social payments to citizens recognized as unemployed in the prescribed manner.
