Center of Application Studies of Computer Networks (CASCN) and Servionika"I-Teco(Group) signed in the summer of 2016 the agreement on strategic partnership for the purpose of promotion domestic SDN&NFV solutions in the Russian and foreign markets. Cooperation of the companies begins with a pilot project for Rostelecom PJSC: on SDN technology there will be translated segment of regional network in one of regions Russia.

Use of the Russian developments will become feature of the hardware of the created solution. Among them – the created TsPIKS the program OpenFlow-switch based on x86 of the server and the RunOS SDN controller under control of which there will be all network segment. The equipment of other Russian and foreign producers will also be involved in the project. Real traffic more than 11 thousand subscribers will be processed at the same time. The network of the operator in the pilot region should earn from new technologies since September, 2016. Project completion is expected in the 4th quarter 2016.

During the TsPIKS project is also responsible for development of strategy of implementation of SDN solutions in network of the operator, provides technical support of the second level and provides training of specialists of Servionica. Their tasks will include preparation and installation of components of a hardware platform and technical support of the first level.

SDN and NFV is new generation of architectural concepts, more flexible and focused on support cloud computing. Use of these tools allows to reduce costs for development of network that is crucial for business performance of telecom operators. The virtualization of the network NFV functions connected with the concept of the program configured SDN networks is considered one of the most revolutionary technologies. Specialists compare its influence to the previous technology break which telecom industry made in the middle of the 20th century: transition from analog automatic telephone exchanges to digital switches.
