Mega-contract: Rostelecom pays technical support of Cisco for three years ahead

In June, 2016 Rostelecom selected Cisco Solutions the contractor on post warranty maintenance of the equipment Cisco for a period of three years. Contract amount - 1.2 billion rubles.

The equipment which is subject to service is divided into two groups - 1621 units with a high priority and 14 thousand with an average.

Routers of a core and large PE routers (performance more than 300 Gbps), aggregation level switches (performance more than 300 Gbps), large BRAS routers (performance more than 50 Gbps), service routers (firewalls) with a performance more than 1 Gbps belong to the first group.

The contractor will have to provide this equipment with the round-the-clock abnormal support, a software update, installation of corrections of software, the solution of difficult faults. If necessary the equipment will need to be replaced.

PE routers with a performance less than 300 Gbps, switches of aggregation with a performance less than 300 Gbps, BRAS routers with a performance less than 50 Gbps, service routers (firewalls) with a performance less than 1 Gbps, service platforms belong to the second group.

For the second group "Cisco Solutions" will provide the round-the-clock abnormal support, software updating and replacement of the faulty equipment.

Cisco Solutions are 100% "subsidiary" of the Dutch office Cisco and since 2015 render services to the Russian clients bypassing integrators. In addition to Rostelecom a client of the company is Sberbank which in 2015-2016 concluded similar contracts for 1 billion rubles.

On May 30, 2016 Rostelecom carried out purchase of licenses and services of Oracle corporation for the amount of $27.678 million (about 1.8 billion rubles). The contractor without holding competitive procedures (as the only contractor) selected Asteros system integrator. The contract is also signed for three years.
